  3. I got my sleeve on March 4th and have lost 59 lbs since. My journey has been good so far. My hair loss has kicked in but I've been expecting that. There have been no complications so I can't complain. NSVs lately has been going to my hometown for a wedding last week and be described as "skinny" "tiny" and "small". I've never been described this way before. I'm happier and would do this over again in a heartbeat.
  4. You could always call Aetna. I ended up having to do that and got my approval this way. They gave me a confirmation number to give to the doctor and this allowed me to get my date of surgery set.

  6. The first week seems to be the worst. I also struggled with regret and cried most days of the first week. Just know that it gets better. I'm going on three weeks post-op and the first week seems so long ago. Keep your head up and welcome to the losers bench!
  7. That's amazing TD Pride!! Keep it up!

  9. I just had my two week post op with Dr.Umbach and everything went great. What I thought was odd was that I was expecting him to clear me on puréed foods but instead, said I could eat normal food! What?!! I'm not complaining, just thought it was weird. He said " you could eat puréed foods if you want but Normal food is ok to eat." Uh duh I want normal food! Lol! I also lost 21lbs since surgery which was two weeks ago.

  13. I just got sleeved on March 4th by Dr. Umbach and he did great! Actual surgery time was thirty minutes. I know what you mean about his dryness but just know it's nothing personal. Don't hesitate to ask questions, he will answer anything and everything. I feel like that's more his style anyways. The staff at Dr. Umbach office us great too!
  14. That's awesome SkinnyMinnyIwillBe!! I can't handle shakes at the moment so I've been drinking those Isopure drinks and soups mostly. There are times where I have the occasional scrambled egg, but I make sure I chew till it's a liquid consistency before I swallow.
  15. Walking helps a lot. I know it gets really uncomfortable but I preferred that pain over the gas. Also try a heating pad on your shoulder area it might help a little. Hope you feel better soon JurneeOfOne
  16. I had my surgery on March 4th. I've lost 18 lbs just 10 days out. I'm feeling pretty good but cannot wait till my follow up on the 17th so the doctor can put me on puréed foods. Good luck to all you March sleevers!
  17. I have only told my immediate family and they have been very supportive. I haven't told friends or extended family because, and I'm assuming, that they will feel I took the easy way out. Now, I know it is not the easy way out by any means. Every time I am reassured that it isn't the easy way out I start getting teary-eyed. I chose not to tell all the people in my life because I feel that I need to focus on my journey more than what people think about what I'm doing with my life. I'm 10 days post op and have lost 18lbs since the day of surgery. The first week was super hard, mostly because I was an emotional wreck. Today I feel a million times better and love love love seeing the weight melt off. I have a neck people!!!!! I'm excited every time it can see it! But anyways, that's me!!

  20. I was just sleeved on March 4 and I'm feeling great! Dr. Umbach is phenomenal (so far ). My surgery lasted about 30 minutes and I was up and walking around about an hour later. My recovery at home was good, I was at the mall shopping four days later. One week post-op I have lost 16lbs. I'm super excited for my journey and hope to get to meet you ladies as well.
