Eat fresh strawberries instead! It's the season for them and they're naturally sweet and yummy too!

Some times you just need to take a bite of the food you are craving. What i do is measure a small amount of that food that i just want to try again. Then I immeidately put the rest away or dare i say put it in the garabage disposal.

Perfect example, I made waffle's this morning for my daughter and her friend. It is the type that is made out of hearts and form a circle. I broke off a piece chewed it and then realized "This waffle that was so good in my past tasted good. But it wasnt that "Fabulas"... but i had an awe ha moment.. The rest went down the garbage disposal.

Oh my gosh! I have the exact same craving right now!! We have a box of cherry pop tarts in our cupboard that are my family's go-to Breakfast when they are running late in the morning and I have been trying to resist them for over a week,

I was thinking I would save some of my allotted calories for the day for half of one pop tart. Then I can stop thinking about it lol sometimes indulging just a little is the only thing that helps. But planning for it and staying within my calorie limit lets me do it in a responsible way!

I will say this...if you're one of those people who can't stop at just a few bites, don't give in to your craving. Just stay away and say no! You don't want a pop tart to derail you. They aren't THAT good anyways haha

2 years out and 200 lbs down? 10 lbs from goal? I say don't take just a bite......eat it all.........a bite is just the kind of test we couldn't pass and ended up here......embrace it...own it....enjoy it.... And then get back up on the horse like you've done so well for the past almost 2 years......really.....live a bit......it's a pop tart, not heroin:)

No it is not a slippery slide for me..It is almost an obsession right now...The only reason I said anything is because my hubby said I would be attacked for even saying it....He thinks you all are my pop tart police!!!! LOLO

The kicker is how things have changed since VSG.

I actually drove for over 3 hours down to Key West, FL..... to get a piece of Key Lime pie at a place I saw on a TV show. While the ride was great..... the pie did not live up to my expectations. Wasn't all that satisfying as I remembered.

Am I disappointed? Not really. I'm in it for the whole enchilada.

I'll just have to savor the recollections of my old food favorites. B)

Just eat the thing, or a part of it! It's not like you're going to eat 2, 3 or more.

That's the great part about the VSG. I don't feel I'm "cheating," so to speak. If I want whatever, I don't fret and guilt trip about it, because I know I can't eat the whole bag, or package, or quart (like ice cream, etc).

I've had a very busy month and last night, I wanted ice cream. So, I ate one of those 4oz cups of B&J Cookie Dough ice cream, whereas before, I'd have eaten half the near-quart carton (Breyer's butter almond).

One pop-tart? Enjoy at least half of it!

I hear ya Rj.. when it is an obsession stay away...

I go to Panera bread with my friends and they laugh when i go up to the window with all the pastries and say Hello old lover!!

Silly I know, but they are like an ex-lover and then I order a great salad with chicken and strawberries and I am a Happy camper.

RJ, be strong and stay away from the old junk and stay strong!!

Omg what you describe sounds so good and I would love to have some...I think it's ok to have some in limitations. You have worked very hard and it's ok to treat yourself once in a while :)

As for just having one, I am not so sure. Pop tarts are one of those slider foods plus it tastes really good. Could be a trigger food for certain people. However, if none of these hold true, by all means, have a pop tart and relish the sweet toasty goodness. :)

OMG - I'm at Panera right now and had a womderful time looking at the chocolate croissant. No real craving - more of an appreciation for an old friend.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
