Weight Loss Drugs

OK -- I don't feel much like I have the right to start a rant since I'm still pre-op but...

WHY OH WHY would you be asking on these boards for opinions about taking some weight loss supplement you found at GNC or the Vitamin Shoppe after taking the extreme measure of having weight loss surgery??? You can believe me when I say that if after my surgery I feel like I'm not losing as I should or I stop losing all together or even start gaining weight back, my surgeon and NUT will be seeing my p*ssed off face at their doors and we will be working on a plan.

To go back to all the snake oil and supplements that never worked before surgery??? Aye-yi-yi...

Rant over.

I know...I saw that and thought "really?" ...couldn't even think of a response for her except ... "NO, you have GOT to be kidding" (but I didn't)... all that stuff is so bad for you as well...lots of caffeine usually (appetite inhancer) and full of chemicals....

We need to do this the right way, now that we have the right tool!

yep it baffles me too. I did all the pills, shakes, bad tasting food, hcg and every diet known to man. They didn't work, if they had I wouldn't have had surgery. If you follow your dr's instructions and listen to your body you should lose without pills and gimmicks.

if you are doing what you are supposed to be doing post op, and you arent losing... you better get back to your doc to find out wtf is going on.

if you are not doing what you should be doing, dont waste my time with asking me about bulls**t.

Idk how to respond to this...why oh why are you even thinking about the stuff that you did in the past when you've been given the excellent tool of WLS??? RU Crazy???

I totally agree. It didn't work before, so abandon it and make your new tool work for you. I think people want it and want it now and don't realize they are getting themselves back onto the old road of self destruction.

Too, I hear alot of people complaining and mapping out everything they are doing with exercise and diet and it's still not working for them and I often wonder, are they listing everything or are they holding out, even subconsciously. None of us want to admit that we are 100% responsible for where we are (or have been), but we all know deep down that we are. We have to take our lives back and whatever WLS we have chosen is a tool to help us do that. Ok, lol, my rant is over.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
