Hi Nancy-

I had my surgery by Dr. Boutt also. I had my first fill with him yesterday. I have been so happy about my decision both to have the surgery and to have him do it.

I am will be attending one of the information seminars provided by the Port Huron Hospital in January. So far the only date I see they have is on the 19th so it looks like that's when I'm going. I have a couple questions.... One, is there anyone else going from here? And the other is, what question did you wish you had asked at the seminar but didn't. Or was there something you wish you would have done different? I am traveling about 3 hours to get there and I want to get as mush out of this as possible.... Thanks for your help!!!

AL

My advice would be to start a list of questions now and keep adding to it. If you write your questions down from now until January, you can go in and ask everything! I wish I would have done that because I was always thinking of questions I wanted to ask. But when I got there of course I couldn't think of any of the questions I had.

No, actually I had surgery in September. I am so excited for you and your surgery Al! Main tip I want to give you is start walking as soon as they give you the clear in the hospital, it really makes you feel better. I have not heard of the Port Huron program however I am sure it is excellent. I had surgery at Beaumont Hospital with Dr. Zoe Deol (remarkable). If you need any help what so ever or just some support I will mos def be your buddy! Send me a private message whenever...GOOD LUCK

I went to Dr. Deol too!! I just had my surgery Dec. 15th!! She is fabulous! I have already lost about 15lbs. I have made it through the liquids and am on soft solids (stage 2) I am really nervous about stage 3. I had one bad experience with meat, ate it too early!! Plus I will be going back to work just as I am allowed more solid foods!

I also have pain, kindof under my breastbone, whenever I get hungry. Anyone ever experience that ?

Janet

Janet...you should contact Rebecca or Dr. Deol as soon as possible. It may not be anything to big, but she will tell you what the problem is and rectify it.

Thanks for the concern. I did talk to Rebecca today. It doesn't seem to be anything to worry about, just my weird body. I am sure I am not healed yet. I am only a little over 2 weeks post-op.

I posted this to another site, I figure might as well get a word out that I am looking for some answers.

I have been looking into the lap band for about 1 year now and have found that Dr. Deol seems the closest and highly qualified for this procedure. To me this is a big step, and I am unsure how to continue.

Do I see my doctor first, or make an appointment with Dr. Deol?

If anyone could help with some of these questions it would be greatly appreciated.

Please don't hesitate to contact me at my personal e-mail address.

Thank you!

Hello! Glad to see so many Michiganders out there! (Or did we change it to Michiganians?) I'm waiting for my consult with Dr. Schuhknecht from the Cori Centers. Anyone else gone there? So glad I found this forum!

Hey all,

I was banded by Dr.Boutt on Friday 3-26. Everything went well! Way, way better than I expected. I am sore but other than that I have had zero compications.

Just wanted to brag to my Michigan friends.:)

Take care everyone!!
