Do you think it would be ok if I took childrens cough medicine? Like trimedic or the deslym, or something like that?? Cough driving me crazy!! No sore throat, just headachy, body achy and stuffy runny nose. I am asthmatic (SEVERE) so any cold goes right to my lungs! Thanks for all the replies! Hmmm, Been awhile since I have written, but I have been reading to catch up! I have a cold, one of those stuffy head, achy, chest cold things that really suck! Anywho, what the heck can I take? Especially for the cough?? My ribs hurt and my nose is sore!! Any help would be greatly appreciated! I was offered some Delsym for the cough, but don't know if I can take it!! Thanks! Hmmm, Need some advice.... I believe I have been having allergies the last few days, either that or I have gotten a cold. I also have been getting a little headaches here and there... Hi, I had surgery on June 14th and penciled in returning to work on the 21st. When that Friday came around I realized I was not yet 100% and decided to take another week! I was soooo glad I did, when I went back to work, I was more accustomed to my new eating habbits and could concentrate 100% of my mind to work! I do not regret taking that extra week! I could have gone back after 1 week, but I am glad I didn't! Hope this helps!~ Baileym __________ June 14th

My thoughts....... I was told by my nutrionist that I did not need to purchase these and that I could get Protein for other sources. I did do stuff like broth and gatorade to keep me hydrated in the beginning. Now I have at least 2 cups of pudding a day along with other protein to get my daily amount. Since nothing is cut away the absorbtion is the same! So I was told to save my money!! Hope this helps! P.S. (Whey Nasty is WHEY to funny!! LoL) Baileym ___________ June 14th

My Doc said soemthing that really worked for me! WALK!!! WALK,WALK, WALK I did that just about everytime I got up and I had no air pain what's so ever... Debra, I am not sure if I mentioned to you how much I walked. I had my helpers (mom, friends, daughter) walk with me. They were shocked on how much I walked, but I healed so much faster then I thought I would! Hope this helps! Baileym

Yes, I have been doing really well. Thank you so much for your thoughts....I am 1 month post op and have had not a one "knocking on wood" problem. I do find myself hungry, during my mushy phase. I am getting my 1st fill in about 2 1/2 weeks and I am excited and nervous about that too! I have been really busy and not able to post much, just popping on to read and quickly catch up on how everyone is doing! My thoughts are with you Debra for tomorrow, Dr. Deol will treat you great! I have heard no straws, you swallow to much air when drinking through one and it can leave you VERY uncomfortable No corn because of digestion, or lack of.... Carrots I haven't heard! Hi Lisa, I was not a self pay so I can not answer, I am suprised that no one else has because there have been quite a few on here that have traveled to Mexico. Hi Nanny, I am not sure if I can help, I have only been banded for 8 days and I would do it again in a heart beat! I feel revived and excited about my new adventure with the thin person in me trying to get out! This is the first time in years that I now have hope for success, this board has been a major part of that! I am now on mushies and enjoyed some mashed potato and gravy...it was fantastic! I was scared, that is a healthy feeling when having any surgery, I found myself weighing the pros and cons of doing this surgery and the pros far outweighed the cons. Hope this helps!! Take care! I am shocked and stunned!!!!! You have been a real mentor the last 6 months! I have looked for your posts and reply's for your insights and knowledge! I can not belive this is happening, I can only imagine how you feel! I still have a few questions for you. Please can you explain the process of an endoscopy? Are you awake during this? Also do you know of someone, or anyone here has had the band more then say 4 years?? I don't remember reading here that anyone has had it longer the about 2 years. I didn't think I would be hungry so soon!! Can anyone suggest somethng to help with it? I am feeling real good, except when I have to burp, I can feel the air go through the band and it kinda ouches!! The incesions don't hurt at all, it is the muscles around it that hurt and I get a burning sensation well below my port incesion, feels like a nerve or something! These are minor ouchy's that last a sec or so. Other then that I feel pretty darn good! Will be taking an extra week of work just to be safe, I see the surg on Tuesday so I will have a better grasp on how I am doing. I also see the nutritionist in hopes to be put on more of a mushy food restriction!!! I have lost alomst 20 lbs since the start of the pre-surg diet, not to bad so far!! Baileym

I will have someone make a quick trip to Wal-Mart! Michelle you crack me up! I have done 3 good, long walks today and I keep hearing a balloon letting out air type sound coming from my stomach, feels really weird! Darcy, PM me with any questions! I loved the hospital I went through and the surg. was fantastic! She was there the WHOLE time before surgery while I was being asked a zillion questions.
