Wb Heather! I'm happy you've gotten to your sweet spot. How cool to know it actually exists! Mine eludes me. Just when I get a fill that seems right, three days later I completely close off. It seems that I am very sensitive to fills. I'm not going to be getting more that .02 cc at a time, so it may never happen for me....at least that's how I'm feeling these days. I'm very bummed out about it. I have lost all restriction this week and am eating like a pig. Ugh.

I'm glad you're doing well with your BB Suzz. Mine is recording every percentage I overeat! haha

I have the opposite problem Rhonda. I got a fill a couple of days ago and it's perfect. I can eat 'just a few bites', don't actively search for food, can't finish lunch - all how I want it. However, I know that in 7-10 days I will be able to eat more than I would like and it all goes downhill from there. I hope one day my fill just stays put and I lose the rumored 2lbs a week. Imagine that!

Oh and welcome back Heather. I'm glad you posted. We hadn't forgotten you of course. The band is such a wild ride with enormous highs and plunging lows. Definitely not easy at all. I guess we have to keep plugging away and not give up hope and blame ourselves.

THat restriction may stay with you!! WHen I got my last fill in Sept I never thought it would stay! I was lik 'omg, i'm gonna have to come get this done every 4 weeks for the rest of my life.' But it's totally stayed. Keep the faith! You might be surprized!!;)

I here you suzziee!!! I have gone every month for a fill - going again on Monday for my 4th one. I just want it to stayyyyyy! (was that enough whine?)

As usual, as soon as I make an appointment, it seems I tighten up just a tad. I have actually slimed Breakfast for the last three days - I have never done this the entire time I've been banded!! Fickle little band.

Oh well - sinch 'er up!

I still don't understand this band. Sometimes I feel full, others times I feel nothing. I have slimed only 3-4 times with 2 of them being pretty darn bad. I wish I would feel something everytime. My doc don't really want to do another fill because of how good I have done so far. Last night I ate a whole can of mixed nuts. THE WHOLE CAN!!!! Now I got this band to help me not do that, but it did not help me at all last night. So I have another appt for a fill on the 27th when I get home and I am not going to leave till he gives me a fill. But when I do slime I think of about another fill and it freaks me out. what do you guys think?

Well speaking of mixed nuts, I just opened a can and all I could eat was maybe 10 nuts before I had to stop. Now I could wait 10 minutes and open the can again and eat 10 more, etc etc. but I am satisfied. So I would say get a fill......

For me it meant I needed another fill. I slimed and had to throw it up after just about everything at 2.5 cc (in a 4cc band). After I went to 3cc it has cut down dramatically... very rare now.

How much do you have in your band? What size is your band?

Hello

I was banded on June 26 and lost 15 lbs between the pre op and after surgery and I am fluctuating between 203 and 206, after my last fill I went down to 200 from 205 and gained it back. I have had 4 fills. I have a 10cc band and :

fill 1 3ccs

fill 2 3ccs

fill 3 1cc

fill 4 1cc last month

I have one more free fill and then I won't be getting anymore fills since I was quoted a monthly payment of 367$ per month and when I got my bill it was and has been for 590$ which cuts into my fill budget.

I am so depressed I have not lost any weight these past 3 months. I am eating small portions I could exercise more but I should have lost at least 10 lbs by now. Also my doctor in his info packet that they would take care of gallstones or anything else while in there and they repaired a hernia and then charged me 1,297.00$, they send it to my insurance and still I have to pay 497$ so I won't be able to get a fill until I am done paying for my loan (at least 3 yrs). I am sooooo sad, depressed and frustrated. Right now this surgery was not worth it for me.

mystic, I am surprised your fills cost so much.

I was notified by my clinic that I will have to start paying for my fills. They are 120. each. Yours are 3 times as much. Mine are not done under florascope. Are yours. If so, maybe you can get them done cheaper the other way.

I know how depressing this can be. I have been going through a lot of the same things you are. I know I am eating lots less than before, but the weight loss is so slow. I gain 2 lbs, lose 2 lbs., and it just keeps going like that. I have been loosing about 3 lbs. a month, but that is with a lot of exercising. I thought it would come off a lot easier. I think the older you are the harder it is to loose. The NP said for me, she sees more trouble with people over 50, esp. women.

Just keep on trying. Eventually something has to happen if you are eating less. Try starting exercising too. It can never hurt. It will make you feel a lot better.

Mine are not done with the florascope. Seeing how cheaper yours are I am going to start checking other doctors to see prices and go with the cheapest.

Where are you guys located?

Oh my doc charges 250 for fills the 590 is for my monthly loan payment.

OK here I am going NUTS!!!! I can't stop eating them. I have not weighed myself in over a month and i don't feel like I have put any weight on. To be honest I think I am down some more because I have to make my belt tighter. I keep telling myself it's ok because I don't eat alot of crap like I used to. I also workout everyday (60-90mins of cardio and 30-45mins of weight training 6-7days a week) So I keep telling myself some nuts is not a big deal. But when I sit down and eat a can of nuts and read the fat facts on the back of the can, I really start to feel bad. I sorry for talking so much about the damn nuts put they really stress me out. I think I have a addiction. I can't wait till my next fill and put a stop to cans of nuts.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket. I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
