Full off two bites..really?!?!

Recommended Posts

Started puréed foods today and blended up some yummy refried Beans with just a sprinkle of cheese. I put it in a two oz container and was so excited to eat them. I took two tiny little bites within like 15 minutes and got such a weird feeling in my stomach/chest. Could I really be full???

Oh no! It sounds like you're full. This makes me so sad. I start full liquids tomorrow and am dying to get to puréed just for the refried Beans. Sigh.

Of course, I guess it's a good thing, right?

Yep, sounds about right to me. When I started puréed two bites would make me full for hours, so it was hard to drink all my fluids. Same thing with the transition to soft foods. I would drink most of my 64oz in the morning, eat two tbls of something mid afternoon and be stuffed till bedtime. It will get better... I could finally eat 1/4 -1/2 cup at 3 months out.

Yep, couple of bites is the limit at first. Your new stomach is still swollen and needs more time to heal. I was so happy when I was full after only 2 bites! B)

Oh my goodness..I really hope this gets better! I hope I don't feel full for so long because I am soooo thirsty! I even waited a full hour after drinking to even start making the beans! Man, I wish it would've gone better :(

Oh don't get me wrong I'm happy that I am full off such a little amount, just didn't think it would make me feel this full! I feel like I just ate a HUGE meal!!

Refried Beans weren't allowed on my puréed because they told me they cause too much discomfort that early. Sounds like that's what happened to you.

I am the same way but Im 3 plus months out. I guess its a good thing - A bit frustrating some times and I wonder if its typical or if there is something odd about me lol. Some times I worry that I will not get enough nourishment. I find that if I eat more frequent "meal" if I can call them meals - I feel better. Things have gotten easier for me but still not easy. I have lost a bunch of weight however so I guess its all good.

Anyone know if this will stay with me forever or if things will change? again... not sure I care ... just curious!!

Sounds about right. I could literally feel food going down. It would feel like it was stuck and if I waited a minute it would go down. I think it was the swelling. Now I hiccup when I am full and it tells me to stop.

When I started the soft food stage I wanted refried Beans soooo bad so they were one of the first things I tried. They were NOT my friend. I haven't tried them again yet but I can tell you that other things either felt way better going down or I could get more down. Good luck!

I am the same way! I don't know how they expect me to get all of my Protein in by food alone at 6 weeks out. The diet is impossible with 64oz of liquids and 60-70 grams of protein daily. I have to have at least 1 shake daily to supplement my protein and I'm still not getting it all in.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
