Feel like im losing slow

Recommended Posts

I am now 4 months out and have lost 40 lbs. I feel like that is kind of slow as my doctor said I would average about 15 lbs a month . But that's an average of 10 lbs a month so I will take it and be happy! could I have done that on my own..... Yes and I have done it on my own! Question is could I have done that on my own and kept it off? absolutely not or I would not have had a band and I would not have had a revision to sleeve. Although I feel like it's a little slower than I had hopes for I finally feel like this is it for me, I finally found a tool that will help me keep the weight off ! Can't wait till another 4 months to see where I am at! :-) another 45 lbs or so and this girl is going on one Gigantic shopping spree!

I averaged 10 pounds a month, then I averaged 4 lbs. a month, now it's down to a pound or two a month. As you say, the goal is keeping it off, and you sound like you are well on your way to do that.

I had revision from band to sleeve on 11/27/13 and down 82 pounds. Everyone is different~ that said, you had a lower starting weight than I did and you certainly weigh less than I do right now!!

I am three months out and I have lost 15 pounds. I am a slow loser too. Hang in there it could be worse.

Sounds like me. I'm 9 mths out and have lost about 25 lbs. Those last 10lbs are a b****. At 4 weeks, I had lost 14 lbs and I've been easily maintaining for about 5 mths now. If I tried hard enuf, I think I'd be able to get off the last 10 lbs!

Good luck!

You sound just like me. I'm 4 months out. Had my revision done on Dec 27,2014. I am down 40 pounds and feel like its super slow. The only thing that's keeping me going is the idea of maintaining the loss. It's been 4 months of not gaining weight so I'm happy about that. I go to the doctor on Monday so I'll see what he thinks. Keep up the good work and never give up.

Yep sounds like me too. I had my revision on 1/13/14 and only lost about 15lbs but I'm down about 12in of my body. The scale started moving and I've lost about 7.5 in April. That's because I'm trying to keep my calories to about 1200 and exercising about 3-4 times a week when my schedule allows it. I also started Dietbetters.com. You bet money on losing weight and if you meet your goal you win a share of the pot! Nice incentive! I have about 50lbs go to to meet my goal. Hopefully by this time next year I will have made it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
