Hi everyone, I have a problem. I don't know if it is between my ears or if anything can be done. I am 4 weeks out. I have formed such an aversion against sweet tasting things that even the thought make me have the dry heaves. I can't get my Proteins in with Protein drink. I now all I want is ice Water. I still have poor energy level. I am trying to learn to read my body, but not sure when I am hungry. My husband says eat it anyway. I can't when I heave I don't stop and it feels like it comes from the bottom (of who knows where) I have lost about 30 lbs. Just let me know if anyone has had a similar problem. I know this could no be good.

I'm 30 days out today. What else are you allowed to eat at this point on your program to get Protein? Yogurt? Cottage cheese? Soft cheese? Beans? eggs?

I have not been allowed to have protein supplements for 2 weeks now which is good because I was having a lot of trouble with them. I am getting protein from food sources now. My buds are different too. I ate peaches this week and they were very disappointing (use to be my favorite thing). They just didn't taste right.

I am 7 days post op & I am struggling with Protein too. I can't find a shake that I like. I am not a big fan of chocolate. Has anyone ever just ate Greek yogurt in place of the shakes? I would think as long as I am getting the Protein in then that is all that matters. The hospital where I did my surgery has a very strict program & they do not allow exceptions. But it's my body & I think I am intelligent enough to make revisions if they work for me. Protein Shake has 30 grams of protein & Greek yogurt has 16 grams so if I eat 2 yogurts during the day as Snacks I would be getting 36 grams plus what I get from my 3 meals.

There's a website I buy my shakes from called Chike Nutrition. U can buy a sample pack that lets u try each flavor for like 6.00. They r THE BEST shakes & only ones I can actually enjoy. They also have a high protein iced coffee as well if u enjoy coffee (I'm not a coffee drinker, but my fiancé loves it! I highly recommend u give it a try. If u decide to try, please let me know what u think. Good luck to u

Thanks for the info

I use Resource Beneprotein. I just make sure the food is less than 140 degrees and I mix it in.

I totally stopped losing weight. Apparently I'm not eating and drinking enough. Are you eating six times each day?

Today I am officially ,1 month post op. MY surgery was April 15. I am feeling good! I am wearing some clothes from the other side of the closet, hehehe. I was nauseated this morning so Protein shake for me. Truthfully, I think I need a break from them. Yesterday, I had to gag my way through them. So I ordered powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup and Unjury unflavored Protein.< /p>

My bras are starting to be too big and undies too. Sorry if that is Tmi. Overall very happy.

How is everyone else progressing

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
