Sleeve with Rheumatoid Arthritis

Hello all. I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis since I was 2 years old. I am 26 now and unfortunately I am morbidly obese. I have been thinking about doing the gastric sleeve surgery. I'm just a little nervous and I was wondering if there were anyone with RA who had done it and can tell me about it.

I have RA, I am MUCH older than you and got it only about 5 years ago...at which time I got more lethargic because of the pain in my legs and gained more weight...to the point I couldn't move...had to use a walker or cane.... I was to the point that I thought I'd have to go to a wheelchair 24/7!!!

Now that I have lost over 120 pounds, I feel "normal" again!!! I can walk without assistance (except if I do a LOT of walking, I use a cane)

This has helped relieve a lot of my pain because the weight was making things worse.
