NY - NYC/Long Island

I'm very interested in becoming leader or helping to get the New York chapter up and running. I'm a year post op and have helped 2 people like myself prepare for gastric sleeve surgery. I wanna help more people in every way possible achieve weight loss success like I have. It is truly a life changing event. I'm currently a student I'm music engineering school. My weekends and some evenings after 5:30 are free

Great to hear about the new puppies. I hope all is well after the car accident. Regards to you and your dear husband. I'll be post-VSG at our next meeting! My revision surgery is taking place on October 20th.

Lisacaron sorry to hear about you car accident ..... Adopting one puppy is a challenge but 2 WOW as the human parent of a 8 yr Boston T & a 12 yr calico cat I'm up first thing in the AM for morning walking. They will be the reason I get out for my exercise during WK 2 VSG Post-Op.

Bandeee Congrats on getting approval for your transition surgery on Oct 20th! Soon you'll be back on track to your goal.

Congratulations. We are working on a support group meeting later this month. Pre-surgical folk are more than welcome to join us. Hope to see you at a future get together.

Yes! I'll be there!

Thanks liz

I'm in Brooklyn too :) I'm in my 3 month hoop-jumping period now, but I'd love to have the local support!

Awesome!!! Good luck! I hope you get approved!

Thank you! I hope the same for you :)

Maybe we can have a meeting somewhere in Brooklyn at some point. It seems that at least myself, BloomingLotus and Sleeve_Sistah85 are all from Brooklyn, and there may be even more of us. Just a thought....

My best to everyone, especially to the two of us who will be sleeved this month, but also to those who are still completing their 6-months of testing, etc. and to those who have already been banded, sleeved or whatever.

I really appreciated the August meeting, and I look forward to our next gathering.

BTW, I've updated my user name from bandeee to sleeveee to reflect my upcoming revision surgery, but it's still me!

Yes let's do it!

If someone would like to put together a meeting location in Brooklyn I would be happy to attend!!!

Let's try to work it out, any ideas?

Good Morning Friends!!

The next meeting of the NYC/Long Island Bariatric Pal Support Group will be held on October 25th from 2PM till 4 PM at The Atrium at 805 Third Avenue.

The building is on Third Ave between 49th and 50th Streets.

The Atrium is at the back of the space on the lower level.

We are looking forward to seeing many of our forum friends there. If any Jersey friends want to attend, please feel free to cross the Hudson and join us!!! Westchester, Rockland and any other upstate folks are welcome to come spend the afternoon in NYC as well!

We are still working on our Long Island Venue's so stay tuned!

For those folks in the outer boroughs if you are interested in putting a meeting together in your area, visit your local library and see if it might be possible to book one of their meeting spaces for an afternoon. You generally have to live in the area to do this, so if you'd like to see a meeting in your area, give us a hand to secure the space and we'd be happy to come to your area and host a meeting with you!!

Hope to see you all on October 25th in NYC!!! Come back in a few days for some more "details" and the inside scoop for the upcoming meeting.....

I will have to miss this gathering as I will only be 12 days PostOp. Look forward to reading the highlights. All the Best!

I will be less than one week out from my revision surgery (October 20th) so I'll sadly have to pass on this meeting. I soooo wish I could attend as I really liked the last meeting (my 1st meeting.) See you all next time around in NYC. And sending my best to Jyoyonomore as her surgery is coming up even sooner than mine!
