Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

Recommended Posts

JacobsMommy, did you ever hear anything?? I just got the call from my surgeons office that I have been APPROVED and I have a surgery date of June 18th so I guess those fools at cigna lied to me about it being denied again after peer to peer. If you get denied I would ask for a peer to peer! Best of luck to all still fighting and waiting for their surgeries to get approved..continued prayers!

OMG congratulations! It's about time! I cannot wait to hear about your progress. I called yesterday and I should know by Friday. The coordinator gave me a date for May 22nd in faith that all will be approved. I am preparing in faith. *sighs*

I've actually had a good experience with Cigna ... I used true results .... From the beginning Cigna said I had to show 4 months of consecutive monitored weightloss and then it would be covered at 100%. They submitted me to insurance on April 17th I was approved by April 25th I was very shocked especially after they told me Cigna was the worst ... I wish you the best of luck

My dr. Office turned in the paperwork to Cigna on May 14 and I had my ore-op appt at that time as well. Surgery is set for June 5th. I haven't heard from anyone since my last appt but have been out of state too. Will Cigna send me an approval letter first or do you think my dr will know first? The office said that Cigna has been good at approving within a week or two. I can't wait til tuesday to call and see if anyone knows more.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
