In one of my WLS cookbooks, it suggests LF refried Beans with cheese and salsa as a "meal" during the puree stage, if that helps any. :)

Today is my 2 week post op appt and I'm hoping to have this drain removed. I'm 22 lbs down and I feel great other than this freaking drain hanging outta my stomach, I don't even feel like I can workout yet...I only walk.

I cheated at my week and a half mark and paid for the next 2 days by being unable to eat or drink and being completely uncomfortable sitting, standing or laying...the worse. NEVER EVER AGAIN will I allow myself that kind of pain for pleasure.

Though I feel fine, I was hospitalized for the color of my drain but was told that the green and brown being drained was unexplainable since I had no pain, no fever, blood work was perfect and CT Scan showed no leaks or other issues...,it was a horrible.color and smell so alarms went off but hopefully now that the color has returned to safe yellow and its less than 5 ml, I need them to remove this thing so I can start living!

Check these colors and if u see them go to the ER right away...your drain should only produce red or straw yellow fluids....

I am 9 days post op today feel great and going back to work today. ? I am having trouble getting all my Protein in. I can still only drink 4oz of my Protein Shake and I am so full. I guess this is normal I hope! 50grams has been the max for me and my surgeon wants me to get in 60-70grams a day. Any suggestions? Super excited I lost 20 lbs before surgery & since surgery 15 lbs. :)

Oh KeeWee and WarriorBlue i'm jealous! I"m a week and a half out from surgery now (4/29) and just yesterday finally lost the Fluid weight from the hospital! Can't believe it took that long - and I had a drain in for two days in the hospital too. Didn't look like it drained that much frankly. Anyway, i'm losing now but not super fast.

No trouble getting in the Protein and Water so far, but i'm much better with something flavored than straight Water. Also ice cold doesn't go down as nicely as less chilled drinks. I'm enjoying adding unflavored Protein powder to purer thinned Soups - today I had a half cup of Ivars Smoked Salmon Chowder and loved it, and somehow that half cup was just plenty!

Still, am a bit worried about going to the next stage and going over the calorie limit. I"m presently at 3-400/day until middle of next week. Good to be back on line though - I literally haven't been able to concentrate enough to go online and post with that oxycodone in my system. Wow. It completely addled my brain!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
