A got a slight unfill two weeks ago because I had the stomach flu and didn't want to risk injury after I'd vomited a few times. Lo and behold, a mere .5cc's made me feel like I don't even have a band anymore. I can eat what I want, enough to make me content and not want more food and stay full for several hours. By all accounts, I think I'm still in the green zone even though I'm not losing weight - I've stayed steady at the 6 lbs. I gained after the unfill. Yes...6 lbs. came back QUICKLY and it scared me to death at first. Well it seems I'm stable now and perhaps I'll just stay where I am. I'm happy with my size, I look and feel good and I eat like a normal person. Maybe this is where I am supposed to be. Yes, I'd like to be about 5lbs. lighter, but there's nothing wrong with the way I am now.

Have you thought about getting the .5cc's back in your band? I don't know if it's a good idea or not. I'm still trying to figure this band life out myself. But kudos on your weight loss & you look fab!

Thanks Ms. Vickie! I was supposed to go get the fill yesterday but didn't go in. I'm loving this lower fill level...I hope not too much though, LOL. I'm going to see what happens over the next couple of weeks, if I start gaining or see that I'm eating too much of the wrong thing I'll ask for .25 of it back...I think I was too full and losing too fast to be honest.

That must be an amazing feeling….to feel "content" with what you are eating and what you are doing to maintain your weight….

…and to be happy with how you feel and look….even better!

Love reading your success story…thanks for sharing your journey!

I just posted on this very same topic, except that they took 3ccs out of my 6ccs and I'm up one pound in one week. Hoping to maintain right here where I am until I can get the 3ccs put back in in three months. I'm not looking to lose weight during this period (in fact, my doctor told me just to maintain my current loss while I'm unfilled) as I'm way too hungry now. But I'd like to not put on more than this one pound.

Scary territory, as I feel like I used to feel when I had to diet in the traditional [unbanded] way. I'm hungry, always thinking about food, and having to do all those old diet tricks to keep from going for the "bad" stuff ...drinking loads of liquids, crunching on carrots, seeking out filling, lowcal foods.

I cannot wait to get back to my optimal fill level, and be released from this old Diet mindset.

You poor thing! That's a huge drop and almost like starting all over again. I was banded with 3cc's and remember quite well that it was like having no band at all. Do your best to stay in a good range, but don't stress about it. Always keep in mind how fast we bandsters can drop weight, when my scale tips up a few pounds it's right back where it should be in a day or two, the same will happen for you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
