More than half way through the month. It will fly by for those of you still waiting. I keep popping in from time to time to see how everyone is doing.

yesterday was my two weeks post op. I lost 22 lbs since surgery. Everyone is different and what they go through. but I had absolutely no pain at all even having the 3 surgeries in one day. also I cheated a few times the 2 weeks before. even one week before on Memorial Day I was out of control. So don't feel like if you fall that you can't get back up there.

I hope that's encouraging. I was really scared before i went in and I didn't need to be. Take a deep breath and know that you're almost there. :)

My pre-op got rescheduled to the 24th. My surgery is the 25th. The issue is I am supposed to do bowel prep on the 24th, but my appointment is not until 130. Guess I will drink the magnesium citrate after I get home. Hoping they don't reschedule everything.

I was told to get the bowel prep, magnesium citrate and that it is available from most pharmacies over the counter. No need to wait. You can take it as directed. If you have a question about when to take it, call your doctors office, they can tell you. I took mine at noon, and it was several hours before i needed to use the restroom (an even then it wasn't rushed), so you should be good to go to your pre-op appointment without worry.

Can you all believe I started this thread on March 26th...and here we all are, sharing our stories, getting to "know" each other...on this journey together! It's so amazing....

If anyone would like to share phone numbers to text message each other, I am game for this..Sometimes we are not always able to check this/keep up with it and honestly I know I need all the support I can get! It's like a 2014 PenPal :)

4 days post op. Handling things OK cottage cheese and pineapple in blender sf popsickles. Little Protein and Water. Some Soup not much. The rollercoaster of emotions are way to much for me right now

Just focus on healing, mentally and physically. Write it out, that's my "go to" for when something is bothering me or when I'm emotional or even when I want something I know I shouldn't have. Sometimes it helps to free write and let your thoughts out so you can make sense of them. WLS has been known to bring out a lot of emotions, resistance to change, fear of the unknown, old fears and reasons why we overate in the first place, to name a few.

Just can do this. You will get through this. Just be. Let yourself feel, you have a right to feel these things. You just need to learn to control them from leaving you in unhealthy ways. Channel the emotions into healthy activities, like writing and retrospection, exercise and food planning to avoid pitfalls.

You got this!

I'm almost 3weeks out and was feeling good And started doing a lot more around the house and now one of my incisions is open. Called Dr and they didn't seem to concerned as long as drainage does not smell bad they said it's ok . Anyone else have this problem? Now my husband has me in the recliner and doesn't want me doing anything but walking .

3 days to go!! I'm freaking out because I am worried about my liver not shrinking enough. Probably shouldn't be worried seeing that I have lost 25 pounds on my own. I guess since I am not scared of the surgery, I had to find something to freak about. This is what I get for reading stuff on the Internet about surgeon's closing people up for having fatty livers.

I am so excited, I set a goal for myself to be at 300 on surgery day. I got on the scale this morning and I weighed 298. I haven't been in the the two hundreds in years.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
