  2. Could you send me a copy of the spreadsheet as well? My email is: drumsby2@aol.com Thanks!
  3. Thanks everyone for the input. I lost 2 1/2 pounds this last week and was happy with that. The week before I only lost 2 pounds. I am trying really hard to stick to the diet but I am having trouble getting all my Protein in. I will just keep doing my best!
  4. I was wondering how much loss per week is normal after the RNY propcedure? I had the surgery 6 weeks ago and am afraid that I am not losing enough. I have only lost 22 pounds since I had the surgery. Other people who had the surgery when I did have lost a lot more than I have. I feel discouraged and wonder how everyone else has been doing. Thanks for any input!!
  5. I don't really like the milky drinks. I have been drinking nectar from Syntrax. They have a Fuzzy Navel, Caribbean Cooler (banana coconut), Tea with Lemon, and Lemonade flavors that I like. They are much better I think. There is 23 grams of Protein in one scoop and you mix it with 4-5 ounces of Water. I think it is worth a try. I was gagging down the milky drinks and now I enjoy my Protein Drinks. You can get the Nectar at Vitamin Cottage or whatever in similar in your area. Good luck!
  6. I am also glad that there are others feeling the same as I do. I am able to eat anything without any nausea and have never thrown up. It has been 5 weeks since my surgery and I am afraid that I am eating too much or the wrong thing. I don't want to mess up my pouch but I am hungry!! I think the 3-4 oz cups are a good idea to help me measure exactly how much I am eating. I sometimes get lazy and just try to guess at it and that is probably not a good idea. It is good to get on here and read what everyone is trying and going through!!

  10. Where do you get the Syntax nectar? I am sick of milk based shakes too. I cannot wait until I get to start the next phase of eating. I have been eating protein shakes and broth only for over two weeks. Thursday I get to start the pureed stuff. Cannot wait. It is very strange how all the doctors are different! I did cheat and eat some cheese. It almost made me throw up. I have to cook for my children and I keep wanting to sneak bites. It is very hard. Anyone else having this problem?
  11. Good luck! It will all go well. Prayers being sent your way!!

  14. I decided to follow your advice and go to the doctor. Actually I was really dehydrated and needed two bags of IV Fluid just to get a urine sample! They did check my lungs and luckily no pneumonia or blood clot. I am continuing to use the heating pad and making sure I take tylenol. Thanks ladies!
  15. I'm sorry you have had such a hard time but I am glad that you are on antibiotics. I hope you feel better soon!!

  18. I have been waking up with dreams of food in the middle of the night. Things that sound so good, but I don't know if I am really hungry or want to taste the food. I have been having shoulder and back pain too. The walking helped today, but not yesterday! I guess it is also time not just movement. I think some of my pain is muscular because I am not used to laying on my back or sitting around so much. Good luck! Hope we can beat the nighttime munchies!!
  19. Thanks ladies! I will call my doctor and keep walking. I also will keep up with the ice pack and try a heating pad. I need to not let the pain get me down and focus on the positives I will get out of this. Here's to another, better day!
  20. I am just miserable ! It has been 5 days since the surgery and today has been awful. I can barely force myself to drink anything and the pain in my back and shoulder are just out of control. I have been walking but it does not seem to help. Maybe the pain is not just gas but something more? Any suggestions to help me out?
  21. The gas pains are really bothering me too. I had surgery 4 days ago and I keep praying to burp. It's kinda funny the things we hope for isn't it? The incision sites hurt some but the gas is the biggest discomfort for me. Hope everyone's gas passes! It is not comfortable.

  23. Last night I had dreams of food.............today is day 12 of the liquid diet! Only two more days til surgery, I can do this!!! I hope all the rest of you are doing well on the liquid diet. It is very hard but if it was easy to lose weight we would have done it before now, Right??
  24. I am only able to drink 3-5 protein shakes per day and I can drink one cup of broth in place of a Protein shake if I want to. I am really feeling starving today, and when I tried to do some yard work I got very light headed. I keep telling myself--6 more days--I can do anything for one week right?? Anyone else having to do this strict of a pre op diet? Any suggestions to make it easier??
