Hi mom2grls2,

I have the same date too! I know what your going through! Exciting and scary for me! So how are you preparing? How old are your kids?

I am trying to drink more Water less diet soda it has been hard. I suffer from really bad depression and sad to say I have gained weight. I have 2 girls one 10 and one 14. I have my pre op appt with the surgeon on May 13th plus a class for my 4 day pre op diet and pre admission at hospital. I am so nervous that I have to start seeing my psychologist to get me through it. How are you dealing with everything? Kids, if so ages? We can be surgery buddies? :) Finally someone with my surgery date LOL

Soda has been the worst for me but I bought some sugar free drink mix and I have increased my Water. I am a coffee drinker too and I like my caffeine so not sure if I want to try Decaf. I just might have to stop cold turkey. My doctor only does a 4 day liquid diet that is when I will drop everything that I am supposed to whether I want to or not. I want to be successful at this and I will be. Thinking positive will help get me through. I am just a nervous wreck is all about all of especially the surgery. Come on May 19th !!

Well starting day 4 of liquid diet and I feel sooo much better, I can do this. My energy level has been really low I hope it picks up. I finish my pre op tomorrow with EKG, CXR and blood work then surgery!!! I have 3 women that I work with that had the bypass all within the last year, they all look so beautiful and healthy. I've been looking at all the youtube video transformations, gotta say I'm a little worried about the Hair loss though! Some seem to have it worse than others. Anyway, off to buy some gas ex and order my Vitamins, I'm getting the "Celebrate" vitamins. We were given a few different choices and these seemed to taste the best and have to take less of these than the others. People have made negative comments like " you have to take these vitamins every day for the rest if your life!" Like that's such a big deal...... I take blood pressure meds every single day, and wear a CPAP every single night, I'd rather give those up and take my vitamins every single day!!! Have a great day everyone!!

One week to surgery and I'm getting very excited. I'm down 10 lbs this past week on the pre-op liquid diet and I feel great. It's amazing to me how good you feel with just Protein and the bariatric Vitamins. I

My only concern at this point is my husband. He's realized that he cherishes our meals together more than he thought. He's tried to be very considerate this week and not eat in front of me, even though I've told him it's not necessary. He's so use to thinking about what we were going to eat, that he's having trouble trying to figure out what to eat for himself. He's the cook in our house.....he's much better than I and plus he wouldn't eat much of what I would cook anyway. I think this is a harder adjustment on him than me and I'm concerned.

We will persevere and come out better because of this fantastic journey.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
