Where's the April sleevers....

Recommended Posts

All prepped and wait to go in. Looking forward to the anesthesia, so it will be all over when I wake.

Came home yesterday which was wonderful. I've had probably 5 different operations in my 59 years and this one was definitely the hardest the first two days. They kept me in ICU for two days and the care was great, then moved me to a shared room which was not pleasant.

First day was missable, no candy coating that day. I had dilaudid pain killer in my iv feed. I think that painkiller cause me such nausea and discomfort. Once they switched me to oxycodone, it was much better.

Each day has gotten much better. Today is the 4th day and I'm just a little weak and slow moving. All I need to do is sip Water and walk at this point. Only required to do one Protein Drink today and I think it will be chicken with broth.

I fully understand the hard part is behind me but it is far from being over. Now I need to learn how to eat well with my tiny tummy.

All is good!

I was sleeved on April 29th at 730am. I am starting to feel hungry today but I am having trouble getting all my Water sips in. It just has a taste that makes me nauseous. I know it will get better but this is tough! Any good tips??

I still can't drink plain Water . I add sugar free lemonade or Hawaiian punch . I really like the Walmart sugar free lemonade mixed with lemon squeezed Vitamin water

Pbucks, that's rough with the ICU stay. That doesn't sound normal.

4 days post op up at 830am drank 3 oz of Protein Shake took daily meds. Read and waiting on the rest of my family to awake. Once my husband was up made sure he was close by took a nice long shower. Got dressed cleaned up my bedroom. Got a little shaky taking sips of Water and ate a Popsicle at 1145am. Now resting for a few then me & my son going to walk for about 15 min or more if I can make it. No pain meds since being home. A little nausea first thing of the mornings. Gas pains are so much better. I am looking forward to each day feeling better & getting my strength up. If u are feeling down know tomorrow will be a better day! :)

Day 6, I think today maybe the turn around day. So far so good! Stopped pain meds yesterday morning so I could drive.

I think my biggest problem was not drinking enough Water. Yesterday I upped the effort and drank about 45-50 ounces. That seemed to help with the nausea crisis. Still a little week as I've only had a 8oz Protein shake/day for the last two days. May bump that to two shakes today.

Also last few nights I'm drenching the sheets at night, sweating like crazy. Temperature is normal, don't know what's going on with that. This morning I weighed 270 lbs, started the two week pre-op diet at 305.....total of 35lbs in three weeks.

Crossing my fingers today is a good day!

Hope all recent Sleevers are doing well also.

Day 5 post op for me. I have not taken pain meds since home. Yesterday was a great day for me walked and felt more myself. The only thing I am having trouble with is getting all my water in everyday & waking up early morning like 5/6 am with awful gas pains once they pass I am fine. Glad to hear each day gets better! All smiles for me! :)

I am 4 weeks post op & still have a nasty taste on my mouth. I am forever brushing my teeth & using mouthwash but it's still there. I have read that others have had the same issue. Does anyone know how long this will last?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
