Any May 2014 sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Angie I would not move to puréed until your doc says. You can try sugar free pudding, that was easy for me. Also Dannon Light an Fit Greek Yogurt in Coconut vanilla saved me.

Thanks but I really hate pudding and yogurt but I appreciate the offers

I'm having a very difficult time staying hydrated and getting all the Protein in. I feel like I am ready to move on to puréed to but I'm scared of doing something that will be harmful. I am supposed to do full liquids until the 29th. Anyone move to puréed on the second week with no harmful effects?

We'll yesterday when I did I was fine when I blended some of my moms unhealthy black eyes peas with some of her yams with some Water and I just spit out the skin ... But later that day I had Soup blended and it wanted to come out ... So today will be liquids to try and get that down

I'm scheduled for surgery may 20th! Scared, and excited. I have a small scattered family so support is what I'm worried about. I know I'm going to need it. Best of health to all the May sleeves!

Don't be scared

I just ate some puréed spaghetti sauce with deer meat. About an oz. No noodles. Feels fine so far.

Just got my date the 28th. I was at the office seeing the shrink. As I was about to leave they told me the insurance was approved and ask me to pick a date. I was not ready for this. Turned out my doc had a cancelation. The office girls could see me turn green when they told me this. I am scared.

I had a little mashed potatoes mixed with broth and I should not until 21st. It was ok. But I had heartburn this morning after.

Par1959:

Just remember why you are doing this. I generally overthink everything until my decision is made. This one had me worried until the morning of but I just needed to feel the neuropathy in my feet for my worries to go. I wanted to do this because of my type 2 diabetes. They checked my blood sugar several times before and after the surgery and now I'm off all diabetes meds. The first week was hard - pains in the strangest places. Today is day 7 post-op and I'm quite happy with the results. Just keep your focus on why you chose this path to walk. And then take each step with that end in your mind.

Angie, you can't do that! I understand though, my grandma is downstairs cooking, rice neck bones and cornbread! I have been in my bedroom all day trying to avoid the smells! I understand totally,

I got sleeved May 14. More difficult recovery than I thought, as far as staying hydrated and getting Protein in. I am really just not feeling very good. Kind of blah and no energy. Also so hard with my family eating regular food and not being able to eat any of it! BUT, I have lost a total of 20 pounds so far since the pre-op diet, so that's encouraging! I know it's going to get better every day! Just need the next 2-4 weeks to go by quickly!

I was sleeved on the 16 and love my results so for down 18 lbs since is started. Fluids are going down more easily but today I was jittery because my meds I take for ADHD now go right into my stomcach and dissipate had to call my shrink and she lowed them. Gonna see me Friday to see how I do. I didn't think it could happen this fast.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
