New Update

Hi everyone, its been a while. Thought I would update. I went to my doc on Thursday and had my first fill done. They put 2cc's in a 4cc band. Now, I do feel some effects already, but what is this I hear about some people not feeling the effects until 1-2 weeks after they are filled? That threw me for a loop. I am not really sure how the fill is doing for me yet other than I cannot eat as much as I could 3 days ago. But anywho, nonetheless, I guess it is working. I am down 26.5 lbs in 6 weeks. Guess that is a good number, not sure. I am happy with it though. I could not have lost that much any other way with what I have tried in the past. It is going a little slower than my brain would like it to, but as long as I can get to my goal by my 1 year anniversary, I will be happy. I have 10 months to lose 80.5 lbs, does this number seem reasonable? I hope so. I don't think I am being to drastic with that time frame. Well, I am really hoping not to have any more fills done if not nescessary. I wish this could keep me restricted enough till goal, now I do know that might have to change later down the road, may need more restriction, so time will tell with this fill I just got. I definately know that I have to give it time. Anyway, you all take it easy and keep on trucking.

Hi everyone! I haven't checked in for awhile because I was on vacation. Everyone is doing so good. I can't say I'm doing great but hey, I lost several pounds even on vacation and I didn't tell anyone there I had surgery...so that was interesting!

I'm so ready for my first fill. Scheduled for Tuesday. I'm worried because I am leaving town 2 days after that fill for 7 weeks...I hope I get enough restriction that I won't be starving all the time.

And I just have to weigh in on the 'gas issue' UGH....I am sooo tired of gas....and so is my family. LOL Anyone have any ideas on how to make this less?

I was trying to update my ticker but having issues....down 30.5 lbs total. :D

Today was a good day. I went shopping for a rehersal dinner outfit (my son is getting married one week from today) and I bought an XL at Coldwater Creek! Then I went to Nordstrom and bought an XL in the regular department!! I bought size 18 pants in the REGULAR department. No more Womens sizes for me!!!!! I made a pact with myself that I was only buying new clothes that did NOT come with an X after the number. My 2X's and size 20 pants are officially to big and I'm not excited about buying new clothes for a size I don't plan on being in for long but then again I can hardly walk around naked. I think part of this web site should be where we can post pics of clothes for sale, keep it in the family.

Anyone have a good idea on how to get the Water down. i find that I am really shorting myself on it.

Hello! I was banded May 2, and I have had the most unbelievable burps since a few days after. I was freaked out at first, because I thought that something was wrong with the band -- how could that much air come out of a pouch the size of an egg?? but I realized it is coming from my lower stomach.

normal day for me starts out with some Water & coffee -- I am too tight to eat anything until several hours after I wake up. So after sipping on beverages, I start to develop huge amount of gas, and I burp insanely huge amounts. It is mainly 1st thing in the morning, when the 1st thing hits my stomach, or after I have not eaten anything for a long period of time.

There is no pain (I am only 1 fill in, & I expect this to change when I have real restriction) just a lot of air. I searched the site for burping & I only find BP or post surgery gas.

I don't believe it is related to how I eat the food as much as when I eat it.

Any one else with this problem? any ideas for prevention?

Thanks for reading :D

The only person at work that I have told is my supervisor and I only told her because I wanted to make sure that if I had any complications and couldnt return to work when planned she would already know the situation before hand. Also I was put on STD so she was going to find out anyway. Most people in my immediate family know though I wish now that I hadnt told some of them. I feel now like Im under a microscope and they are watching to see what I eat and keeping track of how much I lose and sadly would like to see me fail at this. They have so much drama in their life that they only feel better when they can find something about someone else to talk about.

I am sorry you have to deal with that!

I told 3 people - my DH(2be), my older sis & a close friend. no one else knows. & I especially didn't want to deal with telling my parents, because I knew it would get to their extremely judgmental family.

now my sis & DH2B are in the works of getting banded -- I told the doc I wanted a finder's fee :D

good luck to you :D

Hello All!

Since some of the recent changes to the site, the May calendar will not post. And you may have noticed that my previous posts of the calendar have all turned to computer code gibberish! I have contacted the list owner, but have not gotten a response. So, I have attached the updated list here. To see it you will have to click on the link, and the file will open in Word.

Welcome to all the a-MAY-zing bandster who have joined us!

Cheers,

Margaret

Oh, I had such a moment! Only friends who are going through this understand these small, but important, victories! Thanks Metal!

Are you having trouble when you are on the Ticker Factory site, or when you try to drop the Exercise Ticker into your signature?

Nimble...I can set it up, but I cannot add it to my signature. I went on the thread that explains it and tried everything. I think when I did my original one I copied and pasted the picture but that does not work, I tried the url etc and nothing works, I have even tried other computers.....I am ready to throw this laptop out the window!!!

Okay sorry for the rant, thanks for listening!

Melissa,

Love the new twist. I do something similar. FF or lowfat ricotta, splenda, and almond extract. Yummy sweet treat right before tom or anytime you're craving something sweet. I'm going to try the vanilla flavoring and cocoa next time, thanks!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
