ragdoll - talk about not looking like the same person! You have a whole different shape to your body. I took my pictures in my underwear and I'm not sure the world is ready to see that but you never know . . . . someday?

Manatee and Ragdoll

Wow to you both!! Neither one of you look the same. Isn't it amazing what 5 months can do? Nice that you both have pictures to compare.

Keep up the great work, you look awesome!!

Thanks guys for being concerned. Here it is Sunday evening and I just had a chance to get online. My husband has the flu, my 6 yr daughter had the flu, and my 10 yrs old son has the flu! UUUUGGGG! I think my 3 dogs even feel bad. Well and I of course feel like CRAP!! This fill has just kicked my butt!!!! I have had NO food since Tuesday, but I was able to drink after my fill on Wednesday, and Thursday was little bit of sips all day long of the same bottle of apple juice. Friday I was so busy at work that I didnt focus on drinking, but when I tried to have some Soup I threw up.....oh yea I also BP milk. liquids are going down to painful. I only have 2cc in a 4 cc band so I feel like I should be able to handle it....right???? So no food for 5 days now. I have been trying to drink little sips all weekend, but I have that horrible feeling of a golf ball in my chest. I start getting soooo desperate that I wish I would throw up so I could feel better. I did just eat a like three bites of ice cream...but I had to throw that up too. I guess I gotta make it to the doctor tomorrow. Then I get to be torchered I guess thats what I am most afraid of....my fills are hard. Well the only good thing is that I am NOT hungry. I weighed today thinking I had lost a couple of pounds. I have lost 10 since Wednesday. I just hope I dont get the flu!

Ragdoll. I am not seeing the pictures of you...where are they!

Manatee. You look great...although...you look good overweight too! I had a friend email me some pictures this morning of me six months ago and it is hard to believe. I forgot how big I had gotton! Boy have I started getting rid of cloths now. Even the ones that I bought a month or two ago. Everything is just falling off.

Sandra, gosh, you are having a tuff time with that fill. I can't imagine why you can't drink liquids. I bet the doc takes some fill out. My 4th fill made a huge diff too. I am eating mostly Soups and mushies. I really don't mind at all. As long as the weight keeps coming off. I am mostly having problems with meat. Bought one of those already roasted chickens because it looked so good at the store. But, when I took a couple of bites...that was it. I couldn't eat it. But, I could eat a soft roll (half of one) which suprised me.

Let us know what doc says.

Blessings

Thanks for all the compliments! It really helps me to put it in perspective when I look at my pics. It just so happens my monthly pic time is when my weight loss slows down every month. Mini - my pics are on the prior page.

Ragdoll,

Darn, I found where the picture is posted but it won't let me open it. I can see Manatee's but not yours.

Bummer!

Hello,

I'm fairly new to posting on this site, but I'm glad I did a search on May Bandsters. I had Surgery on May 22, 2007 and I'm doing great! Was wondering if there is a way to add this thread to something like a "favorites" or have it always on the thread board so I don't have to search for it?

Also.......this may sound crazy, but I was wondering if anyone can relate?! Over the past two weeks I have come to the conclusion that I don't like food--anymore! Nothing tastes good to me at all-nothing. It's to the point of why bother? I do get hungry, but nothing temps me and I end up having a Protein Shake because I know I have to eat something. It's so odd for me, loving all foods prior to the surgery. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining at all! Just wondering if this happens to other people. I think I'm turning into having to, "eat to live, not live to eat" type of person that I never in my wildest dreams would have considered. food is the last thing on my mind and it use to be the only thing on my mind. I wonder if this will last?

Dear Real,

I still like the taste of some foods. Like stuffing and mashed potatoes and they are fun to eat.

Sometimes the food tastes so good that I hate to stop eating but I have no choice. Congrads..you are doing really good according to your BMI above. Glad you found us. This is my favorite blog. I have found others here and in Australia but, these are the peeps that I am getting most attached to.

How many fills have you had? Fill us in!

Blessings,

Weazer

Hi Weazer!

Thanks for the welcome!

I've had 1 fill, 3 weeks after my surgery and he said he put in 1.5cc. I went back 4 weeks later for another fill. He checked and said I only had 1cc left, so he put in .5cc to bring me back to 1.5. I guess according to them, I've had to fills but I've never had more than 1.5 in my band from the first fill.

I'm due for another fill in Nov. Thinking I'm not sure if I need it!

Hey there bandmates! I am getting soooo frustrated with the plateau that I am on. Since my third fill, only fluids and mushies go down easily and I to am not thinking about food much but I am wondering if this is a good idea or not. I think my body is adjusting to the lack of food and not losing anymore. I am seriously thinking of doing Weight Watchers or something to kick start my metabolism into high gear again. has anyone tried this? I am walking three times a week for 2-3 miles each time and working out on weights twice a week. I'm totally stumped as to why I'm not losing but I definately think it has something to do with starving my body.

I don't know Wenjea, Your wght loss looks pretty impressive to me. How long has it been since you lost wght? You are walking and lifting wghts. I think if you stick it out for a week or two more it is bound to come off. Just don't forget those wghts add wght. But, it is good wght. I love that wght lifting mag Oxygen. Have you ever bought it. Has losts of good wght lifting techniques.

Blessings, Weazer

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
