Nimble... that was soo sweet of you!!! Glad we could help by giving you a diversion... if you want, my closet TOTALLY needs re-organizing... and there's not a slice of cheese in sight ;-)

I've always said the folks on this site are the most supportive I've ever been in contact with! Just think, offering your own closet to keep me away from the food that lurks in my kitchen! SillyWilly, you are a giver! Thanks so much for my evening chuckle! :laugh

Love the chart! Good job Nimble.....

Besides walking, what other exercises are you all doing? I have been doing a swimming aerobics class and its awesome. Most of the gals are overweight or pregnant and no one else is in the pool at the time we exercise so I dont feel self concious. (I bought my swim suit on-line from Pennys because I knew that trying on a suit at the store while viewing myself in a 3 way mirror would be more than I could take!) I also walk on a treadmill at a place called superior courts. I have only done it a few times but really enjoy the hi-tech machine-- As long as I have a magazine to read the time goes by pretty fast.

I am beginning to realize that this is actually happening in just 5 days. Oh MY Gosh! Ive thought about it for so long--it took a lot to make it happen and I have decided that we are a bunch of very courageous individuals.....we have an opportunity to better ourselves and are going for it despite the hard work and risks! Yeah for us...

I see that! Very cool!

I need to stop going nuts, eating everything in sight at the moment. I want to start the Atkins now but I don't have but a small, baby fridge at the moment. Ours went out last month and since we were told the refinance was going to be done back then and every week since then, we have just been waiting for that so we can buy a nice fridge. If I would of known it was going to be this long, I would of saved a bit and got the fridge on my own or bought a el cheapo model at least. Anyhow, point of my ramblings is that I can't really start my pre-op Atkins diet early if I don't have a freaking fridge.

Or is that just an excuse. It probably is.

I agree with you that you are finding an excuse to not start your high protien diet-just because I have done the same thing many times. Its so easy to find reasons to put off doing things we would rather not do! SO I am going to encourage you to find a way to do it--I know you can figure something out!!:clap2: Once you get started it will get easier and by the time of surgery you will be in a good frame of mind to start your new post surgery lifestyle!

Nimble,

Thanks for the wonderful calendar!

Best of luck to all of us May bandsters - I know we will be forever changed for the better.

Bandmates: rubylyn, amandawv, Special K 77, melissa o, NurseLaureli. :)

May 14th is a busy band-day! I'll carry all your names with me and pray for us all on our day.

LS diet starts for me on Monday 4/30. 3 Protein Shakes per day, any kind as long as 15+ gr Protein and SMALL meal once a day 3 oz meat/fish and 1 cup of non-starchy vegetables. Day before only the 3 Protein Drinks and Clear Liquids.< /span>

I do have some shakes that are 160 calories (atkins, I'm used to them) but figure if I drink one with 140 or less and 1 with 160, it's a wash.

I'm getting one of those soda-fountain style drink mixers (anyone else here old enough to remember soda fountains?)

Must confess, I've been having some "last meals".

You guys are all great, so much support. I've got lots of support here too, DH and friends, family.

I'm scheduled for May 16 and can't wait! After all the worrying and indecision, I'm now sooo ready for this. It's hard to believe that it's finally going to happen. Woohoo!

eljmom and keiko,

I'll add your names to the May Bandster calendar and repost it in a day or two. I'm sure we will be adding even more names as we move into the month.

cheers

MNVGirl - are you from Nashville? My surgery is scheduled for May 8th in Nashville. :))

NaeNae,

Nope, the NV is for Nevada - but I've been to Nashville - great city! How's your pre-op going?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
