1. Boy, I tell ya I'm retarded when it comes to this web site. I wanted a picture on the left by my username as well as my doctor's name - like everyone else - but nooooo....the only place I could find for it was the signature area. Help anyone?
2. I haven't found that liquid fills me up - but I do know that it washes food down past the band. Oh, and the POPCYCLES!!! :clap2: YES! Popcycle brand has has them in Diet Dr Pepper, Diet Orange Crush, and Diet Rootbeer. Sometimes if I can't make it the whole hour and a half after a meal I'll have a popcycle and it helps.
3. ONTHEWAY _ I know what you mean. I've been hungry every day except for the first 3-4 days after surgery (May 8th). A girl I know has had the band for 2 yrs and says she really hasn't felt hungry in the two yrs.! I'm like "WHAT?" What happened with me? My stomch gowls all the time - and LOUD. I feel like I have to have almost as much will power as I did before the band. I am still happy with it though, because I know eventually I will be restricted to the point I'm suppoed to be. (half cup) I found out last week that I can eat a 6 inch sub!!!! I've had one fill. I get another one next week and I'm gonna tell them to close that baby! *lol* Just kidding. I am ready to get under 200 lbs., though. I started at 215 and am now at 204. :phanvan
4. Not only are you not supposed to drink while you eat - but you're not supposed to drink a half hour before or an hour and a half afterwards! But you're still supposed to get your eight glasses down a day!!!! I knew this would be the biggest challenge for me. I am in week eight post op and I must say that I do drink with my meals half the time - just not much. I have also been bad about the half hour prior and hour and a half wait after. It is till SO worth having done. I am losing sloooowly - 11 lbs since surgery May 8th. 215 to 203. Maybe that's why because I eat way more than a half a cup! My doctor also told me that the band was way loose on me. He doesn't usually fill the band during surgery because there is swelling but he put 2 cc's in to make up for the loseness. I've had one fill and now I'm a 4.4 cc. I can still eat a 6 inch sub!!!!! But befroe I would eat chips and a soda with it. After tat sub I couldn't have possibly eaten anything else. Still, I don't think you're supposed to be able to eat 6 inch subs. *LOL* I'm actually pleased that I am losing slow because I didn't want a lot of attention and questions from ppl. Plus, I hope it will help prevent a lot of loose skin. Anyway, back to the subject. It is hard not to drink but it won't kill you if you sip a little during meals.
5. Okay, I think I've given you enough time to catch your breath ) So, I can also guzzle water which supposedly shouldn't happen. I'm pretty sure I could be adjusted a LOT tighter. I haven't found a single thing I can't eat. My system seems to be doing fine on everything. The one uncomfortable side effect I have is pain in my left shoulder. I know that happens with gas after surgery, but I didn't expect it to last. I still get pain in my shoulder everyday. Anyone else have that ongoing problem? NURSELAURELI - what is PB? It must be nurse terminology.... I haven't been to any support group because mine is in Nashville and I live about 50 minutes to an hour (depending on traffic) from there. I work in Nashville everyday and can't afford the time to stay until meetings in the evening (I get off work at 4 and the meetings are at 7 pm) So, this site will be a big help.
6. Hello EVERYONE!!! I haven't been on here since my surgery on May 8th! I've been entirely too busy. I am SO happy with my decision to go through with it. I am losing SLOWLY... 11 lbs in 8 weeks, but I am fine with it as long as the scale keeps going down! Plus, it's so suttle that I am not getting a lot of unwanted attention and questions from ppl. People closest to me at work - as well as other family and frineds know, but I don't think it's wise to tell everyone because some ppl still have a mentality that it is dangerous and "I know this new diet..." etc.... I have lost more inches than pounds. My doctor said that when he put the lap band on it was loose to he started it with 2 cc's (he usually doesn't put any in it because of swelling after surgery) I have had just one adjustment to far - total of 4.4 cc's - and I found out the other day that I can eat a whole 6 inch sub!!! I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be able to do that. *lol* I am also hungry everyday.....I don't think I'm supposed to experience so much hunger either....BUT I am losing weight and I know it is all coming off so that's what counts. Boy this is getting long. I'm trying to get everything in in one shot. *lol* I'll stop and let you catch your breath.)
7. Me too, Tamjpjp!!! I hope we can sleep tonight. I'm even skipping 24 tonight (one of my favorite shows) so that I can get some rest and get psyched up surgery tomorrow!
8.
Me too!!! I think it may be hard to sleep tonight. In fact I'm going to bed in just a few minutes because I have to get up so early to prepare....

9. NV Girl! I hope all went well today. I'm thinking of you. I'll be getting up at 3:30 a.m. tomorrow in order to get ready and be at the hospital (1hr away) and checked in by 5:30. My surgery is at 7:30! I hope I can sleep. let us all know how you're feeling. i'll try to be on here Wednesday - if not tomorrow night after surgery. ;o)
10. I am SO nerveous, anxious, excited etc... It was nice to hear of some other people "self-paying." I am also a self pay patient - using our savings - ALL of it - and that's the scary part....what if something goes wrong.....what if I am miserable......Please tell me you had the same emotional roller coaster ride.:phanvan Thanks for sharing.
11. I'm new to this chat site so please bear with me. My pre-op is going okay. I'm HUNGRY today. This is just my third day on the pro-op diet. How about you?
12. Okay - Obviously I didn't do the ticker thingy right. It says I lost 215 lbs. That's immpossible because I would no longer exist! ) That is my current weight. I haven't had my sugery yet. My goal is 140. Hmmm....I'll have to try again.
13. Testing 1, 2, 3..... Not sure how to use this ticker....
14. MNVGirl - are you from Nashville? My surgery is scheduled for May 8th in Nashville. )
