Congrats, Britt! That's great.

I'm through most of the pain and discomfort now. I'm home, which is very nice. The St E's nurses were great. It's just good to be home.

Eating is challenging. I kind of don't want to.

No turning back. I'm so excited! Woohoo!

How was your sleep study, sleeve?

I flunked!! Which I was pretty sure I had apnea- I'm not a huge snorer but I guess at times I just gasp for breath -

They have to type up the report- and send to a pulmonologist (sp) .

I just was like ( woohoo one more reasons to get the sleeve).

I was glad it took the next day off cause I felt like I hadn't slept at all ( even tho I had , it was just so weird).

Wendi- you my lab friend??

How's being at work and recovery??

Yep, that's me! Sorry you "flunked" the sleep test. It's definitely good to know though.

I didn't recover in record time like I had hoped I would, so I was still feeling pretty rough yesterday. I decided not to go back to work today. I will go back on Monday. Today, I'm feeling much better. It's easier to get up without the incisions hurting so much, and I'm getting into the swing of the new diet. At this point, I totally feel up to working, but it's probably best that I'm not working today. I'm sure I'll recover better with this day off. I slept late this morning. It's all good. Now I'm just trying to figure out the eating/drinking/not drinking/eating slowly stuff. Otherwise, I'm feeling pretty good! I have cut back on the pain medication. I was going to let it go for a while but a nurse called from St E's to follow up, and she said I should stay on top of the pain medication for a bit, so I'm just cutting back and having it less often. I'm going to keep tapering off, and hopefully Sunday I'll just be taking Tylenol.

Overall, it's going well!

Take all the time you can to recover. I took a week off from work and I'm glad I did. I know I wouldn't want to go back to work so soon after surgery. Plus with my work I had to get permission to some back to work with restrictions.

Take your time recovering. You don't want to over do it and cause harm to yourself.

Glad everything is going well. You're on the downside to recovery. The next few weeks are the hardest. Stick to your doctors orders on the profession of foods. It will be over before you know it!

Wendi, I'm glad you are cutting back on work and just going to take it easy-

Your body is healing and can use the rest- women are so impatient- we need to be better yesterday.

It will be so fun keeping in contact when you come in. I think the sipping and stuff will be an adjustment too!!

Take care!!!

The weekend was ok. I spent some time organizing, putting all the various things into a spreadsheet and planner so I could go back to work today, and stay on top of everything. Lost a couple pounds. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
