Post Op March 2014

Recommended Posts

I am 9 days post-op. My back is killing me now. Goodness. If it isnt one thing isnt another. I ate a few teaspoons if running soft mashed potatoes and they hit me like a brick. Still cant even drink anything. Walkded around the grocery store for an hour and that helped. Goodness

My stomach doesn't hurt like a sharp pain hurt but I have that weird feeling 24/7 like I have a virus or something and fight throwing up all day long. I have back pain, shoulder and neck pain. I'm just having more bad days then good days now and I don't know why. I'm getting in alot of my fluids and a good bit of Protein . Can't wait til I go to my doctor I'm just ready to feel normal again!

Hey all. I had my sleeve on March 28th. So tomorrow will mAke a week for me. It has been a rough week. My main issue is getting my fluids in. I had to go to emergency on Monday due to dehydration. So I am just trying to stay ontop of it now. I also have horrible reflux when I eat or drink anything. I am taking omeprazole but it doesn't seem to be helping. Also I have dermabond over my incisions anyone know how long will it take for it to fall off?

Have you tried something for gas? Like the Gas-x strips. That might help.

Hi all I'm 16 days out and started solids yesterday and my stomach is killing me today. Does anyone know if we can have tums? I don't have any gas-x or I would try that. I have been so nauseous since lunch I can't even drink. I think my body hates me it's says first you take food away now your giving it back your crazy lady LOL!!! Thanks all

I must admit I'm a little relieved that the symptoms are not just happening to me. I sure hope I can eat at least 500 calories. How will I continue to lose fat and not muscle with those few of calorie intake. I guess time will tell. Im almost at week two (11 days post op). I will focus on fluids and sip sip sip like many others say. Don't want to go to the ER for dehydration.

I got way to excited today after my 7 day pre operate appointment. I got home at one , took one table spoon of tuna and combined with Greek yogurt until smooth. Well it is 7pm and I can not get it to pass. I've tried manually. Not very comfortable. Has anyone tried anything to help pass this besides going to the doctor

Mcgill75,

Do you mean post op? If so what are you feeling, nausea, a stuck lump in your chest? I did the same and had to vomit back up. It may take more time to pass I'd you can't bring up with your finger friends. Its a hard lesson I had to face that I wasn't ready. Scared to try again. Hope you feel better soon.

This is why it's important to get your Protein in and do at least 15 minutes of activity a day. By exercising you tell your body you want to burn fat and not lean muscle.

How do you know the difference between dehydrated and go to the hospital dehydrated?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
