I'm 6 months post op and have 5.7 cc in my 14 cc band and am just now started to feel restriction, but that's after 6 fills. My weight stood still for 3 months but I'm finally losing again. You have to look at this as a journey, it's not quick loss. Don't get me wrong, I was getting discouraged but I have lapbander friends who are still encouraging me. Remember, it's a journey and a tool, you still have to make good food choices AND exercise. My stall was a lot of my fault, my portions were much smaller but my food choices were not good and I sat on my butt and was lazy during the holidays.

I could be that you are not "eating enough" with the band, sometimes all you can get down are a few sips of this or an ounce or two of food. Try getting in all of your Protein, even if some/most is in liquid form. I can be very discouraging, but one thing I have learned is that even though we all have THE BAND we don't all respond in the same way, and some of us, don't respond like most - that's sounds crazy, but I was banded in 2008 and JUST NOW started losing after regaining everything back (don't panic -- it was a combo of me not being head-ready and an overly conservative-you have enough fill doctor)

Sometiime I feel like I'm eating every 2 or 3 hours, but I'm not hungry when I get the Protein in.

Check with your dietician; I was told very often I wasn't eating enough. When I did, the weight started to come off.

I got my 3rd fill this past Tuesday, as planned. They put in 1.5cc's and for the very first time, I felt a difference. My hunger and appetite actually felt under control. After about 3 days, I am now feeling hungrier again, and I have made some bad food choices, have over-eaten twice, and ate too fast once. I must have had some swelling causing more restriction and that is gone now.

The good news is, I do not feel hopeless any more. I am not at the "sweet spot" yet. I am making mistakes, doing wrong things, but the difference now is I know that I have changed and am going to change more. I know my hunger CAN be controlled now, and with the right fill, it WILL be controlled. I started counting calories, writing down what I'm eating and deliberately making good choices most of the time for the past 4 days.

I have hope that I will be able to lose weight now. I have hope that I am and will continue to change my eating habits to a healthy lifestyle of healthy foods. I have hope that as my body cleans out, weight decreases and energy increases, that I will be strong enough to start exercising and get stronger.

I have Hope. Thank God.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
