I don't know, though, it might be funny working with a surgeon who saw me naked!! HA HA!!

:lol: I wondered if I was the only person who thought of that. Everytime I have to see him, I think of the fact that he knows what I looked like naked!;)

Are any of you attending the monthly support meetings at GBI? I have been to all but one of them (on vacation in March) since I was banded.

Craig

By the way, the "black headed chick" is Tiffany. :-)

I wasn't sure. I forget the names of the people up there. I kind of thought Tiffany was the other nurse. I like her alot(the other nurse) - I think she has a really good demeanor.

I thought I spotted someone handsome and remarkably intelligent while I was there.

I am so excited that I have lost a total of 58 lbs. as of today. I had a fill today and had never been more ready.

how is everyone else doing?

I was trying to pay attention to the names of the people Brooke was calling back. What is your name punkster?

When I got my fill, Brooke said on a scale of 1-10, I have a fill of three. I think it was her way of saying she put in 3 cc's. I know their policy about telling patients how much fill they have.

That is great about your fill and your weight loss. I am so ready for my fill. I went from having some restriction to being wide open. I have been starving from morning to night. The only thing that is saving me is I don't take anything extra to work with me to eat. If I did, I would be snacking all day.

I am really jealous of you all! I had surgery before most of you, but everyone has lost more than me!

You have done great! I just weighed a lot more than you at the start. Once I hit your initial BMI, the weight loss slowed down dramatically.

Yea, that's what a lot of people said. I also didn't have to do a preop diet like most of you did. I was hoping to be below 200 by now, but I have been stuck the last few weeks.

Im sorry you are feeling bad carriec. i definitely have more than you to lose and you are only a couple of pounds away from onederland. you will be there before you know it.

My pre-op diet still accounts for more than half of my current weight loss. i had been getting discouraged but I just had my 6th fill so i am hoping and am told that things should speed up a little.

I will be thinking of you.

I am glad that your fill is holding. I am going to ask that they check my Fluid level at my appointment this week. I feel like I don't have a band right now. I don't know what is going on.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
