You shouldn't start eating normal foods too soon because it can cause your band to slip. It needs time to heal and attach good to your stomach. That is part of the reason for the liquid and soft food diets....

I am at the end of my third week. According to the stuff they gave me, at the beginning of the third week, I could start eating soft proteins(eggs, cheese, finely chopped meats etc.) I did that and by the end of the third week today I have started eating more regular food - Fiber breads, Pasta, other meats(hamburger, steak). With all that being said, I started eating the 4th week stuff a few days early. When I do eat, I am absolutely careful to chew everything until it turns into paste so I do not have any issues.

y'all can click on my livestrong.com daily plate link and see what I have been eating. I was not very worried

Oh, I thought you meant you started eating normal right after surgery, LOL!

I'm glad that you are doing ok. 54 pounds is great! Why did they move your appointment?

I'm doing ok. I had an adjustment last week. I really felt it last week. I still feel it, but I can tell that it has loosened already. I can only hope that it doesn't loosen too much more. I need some of the restriction to last a little longer than a week.

They must be getting behind. My first fill appointment was moved from May 7 to May 12th. I was a little bummed.

That is so odd. My fill was last Thursday. I had an appointment for that Tuesday. I was able to call on that Monday before and still get an appointment for that Thursday. Of course, there is no telling what has happened since then.

I had an appointment for my 1 year followup for the 28th and they had to change it as well. I am supposed to go for a fill and a followup on May 13, but now I don't really feel like I need the fill. I am going to wait and see how I do next week. Some days it is really tight and other days it is loose. So I don't know what to do...

I wonder if someone is sick? Did they give a reason why all of the appointments have been changed?

Ponce is going out of town, i was told.

i agree with the restriction for a week. my last fill (my 5th) only lasted about 2.5 weeks. argh! i cant wait until i have restriction for a month or so. i am back to being able to eat rice and bread at dinner and am hungry most of the time. that sucks. :) i am hoping that this next fill is the sweet spot but not getting my hopes up. getting a little discouraged with lack of restriction but am still losing some weight so i guess it evens out.

I am so there with you. I still have some restriction, but I can eat more than what I think i should be able to. I am tired of dieting. I know that I have to work the band, but it would be so much easier if I wasn't hungry.:)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
