I am having surgery April 12 in TJ. I am a band to sleeve. Just wondering if anyone else has experience with this? I'm worried about waking up without the sleeve. Can anyone relate?

I had the band removed first 3 weeks ago. I will get the sleeve march 19. I got sick after the surgery ad was rethinking the sleeve cause I hate feeling sick but, going through with it.

You will be ok. Have faith.

Yes. I can relate. My surgery is the 26th, he is to remove the 50% of the band he left in there back in January, now he said that on the 26th he will do the removal n the sleeve, I dont necessary believe him anymore because when my port got infected we agreed to remove the band n when I woke up he only removed the port *he made me feel so mad but I stayed with him to give him a chance to fix his error. How can a doctor say he is going to do 1 thing & does whatever he wants? He had the nerves to asked me "dont you want the port on the other side" wtfffff doctor if 1 side got infected y would I want it back besides it didnt help me. It even gave me a hernia. Im so frustrated!

I had the same feeling before I got the band remove. The doctor if there too much scar tissue , then he would remove and several weeks later, I would get the sleeve.

Just try to relax, don't get upset if the sleeve wasn't done.

I had the band removed in February. 4 weeks later (Mar 19), I got the sleeve. Truthfully, you will be in some form of pain. I was assured that I would getter. It's been 3 days. I'm hurting a bit. I force myself to walk and get something in my stomach.

I'm here for you!

I'm doing pretty good. I'm still having some pains, mostly on my right side where the largest incision is. I think that is from my hernia repair. I'm being able to tolerate more fluids. It's be becoming easier by the day.

Fellow 3/26er

All good here.

So far it's been smooth for me. I'm able to take my Vitamins. I never needed any pain meds so I feel lucky!

I've been able to get 3 shakes in daily. I need to increase my Water I take. I'm working on it each day.

I'm planning on going back to work on Tuesday for the day and then taking 4 days off before returning full time. I figure I should easy my way back.

Still burping often BUT no pain so no complaints!

How has your recovery been??

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
