NSV (non scale victory) I went shopping at CATOs over the weekend and of course went straight to the plus size side of the store. I started out a size 22 but knew I lost some weight so went down to 18, then 16 and both were too big! I was able to shop in the regular size side of the store! Bought a couple of 14's! Surgery was Dec 30th. So happy!

2. Able to cross my legs

3. Can comfortable reach my toes to paint them

4. Lost a few chins!!

To be continued....

I was able to fit into a suit today that I haven't worn in 3 years. I got so many compliments today about how "slimming" it was on me. It was like getting new clothes... all I had to do was shop in my back closet where all my out grown clothes are hanging. I'm a happy camper.

  • I can wear a few different sizes, depending on the brand, that I couldn't before. && they're comfortable!
  • Old rings are fitting again!
  • Lost my double chin, thankfully.
  • No longer in *warning* area of being diabetic.
  • Losing inches everywhere.

Just a few nice things.

My mom absolutely loves Cato's.... I went in with her the other day and bought a few outfits from the "regular" size section as well. Prior to surgery I was 16w/18w depending on the material, cut, maker, etc. Bought a few size 16 pants and XL shirts and hoping to be in them by the end of the month.

My NSV victory today was wearing my Old Navy (size 18 ) skinny jeans. They use to be SUPER tight...and I use to have a horrible muffin top when I put them on. Well today..I had to keep pulling them up because they are too big. Also can take them off without unbuttoning or unzipping. Looks like I am getting closer to a size 14...really hoping to be there before the end of April.

My collar bone and jaw lines are becoming more pronounced. My neck is starting to look skinny. :)

My step mom told me I have lost a few chins (backhanded compliment???). But mine has to be tying my shoes without having to turn my foot sideways to do it. I have a turkey neck which I am incredibly proud of - I know it sounds silly but it's an indication to me that the pounds are coming off. Of course, climbing the stairs without dying is a huge accomplishment as well.

What a great topic! VERY encouraging!!!!

My surgery was Feb 3rd and I am down 25 lbs. My husband sees me everyday and he said he sorta sees it. Well yesterday, we were visiting family and he came around the corner from the kitchen to the Living room and said he had to look twice because he said WOW you really have lost weight God I love that guy! A co-worker today said are you losing weight? I said yes I am. He said keep up the good work your looking great! I love my life right now.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
