Congratulations!! on your mini goal victory!!

I am in Peoria and recently banded Nov 9th. Nice to talk to people who are least in the same state as me....LOL

We actually have a wonderful support group here locally, but I love lapbandtalk it has been a huge help while I was researching my surgery and since I have had the procedure.

It is always nice to compare notes with others going through what you are. So far no complaints here......I am doing great and no hunger and no fills YET!!

Merry Christmas to all of you Illinois Bandsters!!

Hey.....Kelly,

Great job on your wait loss.

I havent lost anything lately. I've been eating a lot of Soup instead of solids. I'm really tight right now. It seems like I'm getting tighter every week. I'm starting to wonder if my band is slipping. liquids in the mornings are going down slow also.

Hope you had a nice Christmas Kelly.

Have a very happy new year.

Terry

Terry,

I had a lovely Christmas! Thanks for asking. I'm sorry to hear about your band. Stay positive and I hope you are wrong about the slipping. Also, have you heard from Jenny in awhile? I hope she is okay.

Penny,

Glad to see you are doing so well. I have been banded since Valentine's Day 2007 and I have only been sick 3 times, all my own fault for drinking and eating at the same time. Shame on me. You should start a ticker so we can see your progress! Kelly

Hmmm...maybe I can help with your ticker.

Go to Trying To Conceive Ticker

Click on weight loss ticker.

Choose your ticker

Choose your icon

Fill out your pin number and all blank boxes pertaining to your weight goals. When you hit next, a web address will appear. You can copy and paste that address into your signature on this website and it should appear when you post a reply or thread. See if that works.

I'd hate to spit up that much. I call PBing/throwing up spitting up because, at least for me, it really seems like spitting up. A couple of years ago I learned how to screen infants and toddlers for possible developmental delays and I remember the process-- they get fussy or get that look and stuff just comes back up. Then its all ok. Well thats the way I feel. I admit that stuff still comes up more than I would like. Not daily, but more than once a week. I think I must be a slow learner. That gets frustrating. I'd think I'd figure it out faster. But it takes me a while-- I have to remember to eat slowly, pausing between those bites. When it starts to feel a certain way, thats it. Still I eat too fast enough of the time or don't recognize that feeling soon enough, and then it catches up to me, and uh oh!

Sp how is everyone doing in the new year?

I'm Ata, from Champaign.

I just finished my 1st semester of grad school at U of I in December-- I'm getting my masters in Library Science and also my K-12 teaching certificate. I also went to U of I for my undergrad. I was banded by Dr. Rohrscheib in March.

Did anyone else lose their gall bladder? Mine failed rather spectacularly. I had mine out six weeks after I was banded. Though I have to say my initial weight loss was really fast-- it was a pound a day, maybe a little more. It slowed down. I had gained back about 14 pounds in October, then had a fill and lost six, then been platued until early December. So I'm finally losing again (well except for the last couple of weeks. All my fault too when I don't lose on account of bad habits like not having a Protein Shake for Breakfast and then eating too much junkfood and sweets. They taste good and go down easy).

I broke my bathroom scale. again. Crumpled on me. So I ordered a new one, just arrived. I hope to meet goal sometime in 2008! Though I have to say I am seriously thinking about getting a girdle or waist cincher. I have one pair of the Spanx type panties that do that and I love them. I have this belly flab up front and it seems like these days it just shows through most of my shirts and so forth. It sticks out too, this flab...

Kyethra,

I do the same exact thing that you do. I know I eat to fast....and befor I know it I'm in the bathroom getting rid of it.I have learned that if I'm having trouble eating something, if I take a few bites and I start getting that feeling....wait about 20 min.and then continue, it seems to help .

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
