Kelly,

I just looked at my calender. I can't do lunch Tuesday...I have a 12:30 hair appointment. How about Monday or Wednesday?

Terry

Terry,

You're probably wondering why I'm ignoring you. You called me Sunday and told me you were getting sick. Honey, you have no idea. I woke up at 5 a.m. on Monday morning with a stomach pain. I thought, no big deal. I'll have some diarrhea and actually not be constipated for once. Not! I spend the rest of the day until 4 p.m. sitting on the pot with my face in the garbage can doing both at once! TMI I know, but had to share. So, I had to stay home from work Tuesday as well because I was still really messed up with a fever until early that morning, and ended up having my 3 year old at home with me sick too. He fortunately didn't have the pukes and poops. Completely different for him. High fever, cough and snotty nose. Lovely. I had volunteered at the local YMCA for healthy kids day on Saturday and was around 150 children and their parents. It is not a surprise that I ended up sick I suppose. So, I'm back at work today and feeling much better. lunch will have to wait until you return from your trip. Have a good time!!! :)

Kelly,

I'm so sorry to hear that you were down feeling sick. I'm glad you are feeling better now. I'm feeling better today also. My fever broke this morning and my head fells like it is starting to clear up some. I may leave a day later to go to my Mom's. Maybe on Friday.Let's try to have lunch the last week of this month. Ok?

Hi all. I have to say, I do not like the new way the site is set up. I am having a hard time finding things. But my motto has always been "change is BAD". Trying to get past that!

I had my fill on Monday. I was pretty good and did liquids that day and mushys the next. I have felt pretty full. I went to lunch on Friday, at Subway, got the wrap. It had a hard time going down, so I just at the chicken. Then on the weekend I was out of town, so I had to eat out. Ate a half of a grilled cheese and some cottage cheese. Next day tried a pancake, ate about half. I think that on the weekend, it is not a matter of being hungry, it is just being around the kitchen that kills me. But I am feeling full and that is great. I go back to see Sid on the 19th. I am happy with my restriction for now, but we all know that can change at any time.

For me, it seems like I am expecting GBS results. And I have to change my mind set. I think I just want it to happen so bad that I get impatient.

Anyway, I am happy to find our thread again! Only 26 more days of school!! Then I am free to meet for lunch. (Unless I teach summer school!)

hello guys, im new to this site, banded in jan 06 by dr tull and just re-banded last mon 4-21 by dr. r for a slippage. i am still in the recovery stage and already starting to worry! i have heard that dr. r is very "conservative" with his fills, not allowing a lot of weigh loss. this frightens me to death....i am hoping to chat with some people who have had their fills there and have not experienced this, please let me know!!! thanks.

Hi, and welcome! I wanted to reply to your post because Dr. R did my band. I am very satisfied with my weight loss so I think you'll be fine with how he does your fills. I have averaged 1.2 pounds a week since I was banded last year and I have only thrown up 2 times since I've had my band. Slippage is suspected to be caused by overaggressive fills and spitting up too much, so I feel very lucky that he gradually took me to where I needed to be. At the time I had my surgery, he only had 3 cases of slippage in his whole career. At my last fill I asked the nurse if I ever needed to be x-rayed and checked since I had been banded for over a year because I didn't know anything about slippage at the time and was worried about it. Not realizing that I knew Dr. R and Dr. Tull used to work together, she made the mistake of saying that the other Dr. that used to work with Dr. R had cases of slippage on a regular basis and not to worry about my band because Dr. R is careful how he places it and careful of how he does fills. So, that made me feel really great about having Dr. R as my doc. I hope you have better luck this time. If you live close to Champaign, join Terry and I for lunch sometime. We meet once a month!

Kelly

Thanks for your reply!! I live about 2 hrs from Champaign, I had to have my surgery there d/t insurance coverage. I am not complaining at all, I am very happy my insurance paid for it!! Well, let me tell you that I was pretty much in misery with my last band, I lived with acid reflux and indigestion on a daily basis. Granted, I just got this placed last Monday but i have not had any reflux  That is way exciting to me!!! My biggest fear is gaining weight. I do not care if it takes a while to lose the rest of my weigh, I just dont want to gain waiting to get to my "right" fill. I lost almost 80 lbs before my slip, gained about 15 back. I was 202 at my lowest, 221 on the day of my surgery. I am waiting until Mon to weigh in but I can tell I have lost since surgery, due to the liquid diet. I know 2 other ladies who are going through the same issue with Dr. Tull, they went to a support group and I guess there were some people there who said they have gained weight with Dr. R since their surgery. I just hope this is not the case with me! Please keep in touch, I enjoy talking to people who are experiencing the same thing!!!

Hi Kelly,

Monday at noon is good for me. Do you want to go to Za's? I've never been there but I'm sure I will find something I can get down. Yes I'm still having a hard time getting solids down. If something comes up call me.

Terry:smile:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
