Family becoming food police

Ugh. I am about to lose it on family... And friends.

I am so sick of them telling me I don't eat enough. I'm losing weight too fast. I need to eat more veggies. My husband telling people. No she doesn't eat anymore. Not enough to keep a bird alive. Sorry I had one sancho (homemade) and not 3!

I think my insurance company paid a dr a whole lot of money to help me manage this. I have lost 58 pounds since sept and still weight 165. At 5'5" I can still stand to drop a few more pounds.

Guess I should have put this in the rant post. Just had to vent.

I'm told that I look anorexic. Closer to chubby.

I think what may be happening is that folks are used to seeing you a certain size and since you've lost alot of weight, they are just doing a compare. You look like you are eating nothing because compared to what you used to eat...you are eating nothing. Same for your size. You look so much smaller than you used to...therefore...you are too thin.

I hear the same thing...yet I'm still clinically overweight. I'm just so much smaller than I was so people think of me as thin when I am far from it.

Just let those comments roll off your back...they really are compliments so think of them as such.

Congrats on your success.

Thanks. I just get so annoyed feeling like I have to constantly fight for what I am doing. I haven't weighed what I do now since I was 12!!! 30 years!

quit defending yourself. and it would be a okay to tell your husband to please stop talking about me to other ppl. I had to tell my daughter to stop introducing me and than adding onto my name," and she has a lapband." I have told those I wanted to tell and I will keep ppl up to date .it isn't their job. the statement what happens in vegas stays in vegas is the same in my household. whatever happens inside my home stays there. I won't tell your life story don't tell mine.

I can totally relate to what you're saying. Most of the time, I get the "You don't eat enough. You need to eat more." line from my family. My mother even asked me once if I had talked to my surgeon to make sure that I wasn't losing weight too fast. I have seen him every couple of weeks since my surgery. I'm pretty sure he would say something if he felt I was losing too fast not to mention the fact that, if that were the case, he wouldn't dare put anymore Fluid in my band. Funny thing is, if I decide to treat myself to something special, I hear "You're not supposed to be eating that, are you?" Ugh.

YES!!!!!!!!

They had ice cream tonight.... I put 2 tablespoons of ice cream in 3 oz of almond milk for a milkshake... Oh I'm telling your doctor... Well guess what he already knows I like ice cream. He says count it in your calories and don't complain if you don't lose!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
