Truth is, every doc is different. If they didn't give you a specific amount, they are probably not concerned. The pre-op liquid diet is typically to shrink the liver, however you usually drop a few pounds as well.

Good luck with your surgery.

My doc didn't give me or anyone that I know of, any amount to lose. My surgery is Wednesday too!

Hello. My surgery is Friday. I'm having anxiety trying to figure out what I can eat post op- or rather drink. I had a protein shake. Still hungry.

my surgery is the 19th too! Good luck! My doc didnt tell me a specific # but I've lost about 11 pounds if that helps.

My surgery is March 8 And I'm getting nervous. How is everyone handling the liquid pre operations plan?

Good luck and prayers to everyone having surgery this week.

Hi all. I just joined. My surgery is on March 20 th. I'm on getting as much info as I can.. Good luck to all with upcoming surgeries.. :)

My surgery is Wednesday too! I agree that the pre-op diet is mainly to shrink your liver, not to lose a certain amount of weight. Best of luck!
