Hi All!

I had my VSG surgery on December 15, 2014 and through this whole process I have now lost 114 lbs. I wanted to share two before and two after. The before one in the blue shirt was about 5 years ago when I was at about 300lb, the other before one in the white jeans was 2.5 years ago when I was at about 260 lbs. The after in the blue shirt was n April 2015 and I hit 100lbs lost and was 200 lbs. The one in the orange dress is today, happily weighing in at 186 lbs :)

What an amazing journey it has been! This site and everyone on it have been so inspiring! :)

Thanks all!

My surgery is this coming Monday. And I've been so nervous and stressed out worrying if this is the right decision. But seeing all of your amazing photos is such inspiration and is making it so clear that this is the right decision. :)

I am also getting sleeved this Monday in TJ. I have spent alot of time staring at your before and after pics. Just a remarkable transformation. You have none of that "I used to be fat" look. Your arms and hands are so willowy and slender. Like the gal ahead of me, you are a real inspiration to me!

LOL, geez thanks!

No, seriously thanks. Yeah, pretty big change. Went from like size 58 pants to now 38. 5XL shirts to now XL , and knocking on L.

You look incredible! I've been looking at all of the transformation pictures and yours is one the most drastic I've seen!

One year out.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
