Congratulations! You look great! I have the same starting weight as you and am getting banded on the 14th. Did you lose gradually over the 10 months or a lot at first and then it slowed?

Thank you krps0930!!! I lost quite a bit the first 4 months, then I reached a plateau and didn't lose much at all for about 2 months. I think my body was getting too used to the same old workout routine. I had to up my workouts to make them more challenging. I'm losing between 1 and 3 lbs. a week now, which is what my surgeon wants. Good luck on your surgery! Please keep me updated on how it goes.

Will do! I am nervous about the whole exercising thing, as I have always said I'm allergic to exercise. Lol. I did 30 minutes of Just Dance 2014 with my family last night and thought I was going to pass out I was so worn out...will I ever enjoy it like so many people on here?

I know EXACTLY what you mean! Prior to being banded, I hated exercise. Even 30 minutes of exercise is good. It's a start. I get bored easily, so I have to switch up my workout. I go to the gym, walk around the track at the school, do HipHop Abs DVD at home or, my personal favorite, go to Zumba! If I'm being honest, I don't LIKE to exercise, but it's a necessity. I exercise between 5 and 7 days a week. I will say this...when I don't exercise, I feel like something is missing from my day. Once you start, your endurance will build up.

EXERCISE..... My husband and I joined a gym (probably the fourth or fifth time doing so) last June...... Two months before I had WLS. I HATED it. Every day I fought with myself to go. I dreaded even walking out of my front door. I rode the stationary bikes bc I could sit while exercising. I would come home and have to elevate my legs bc of them being swollen.... But I continued going...., started to feel a little better after about six to eight weeks..... Fast forward to the present. I go to the gym six days a week. I do an hour of cardio on the elliptical every single day!!!!!! I try to do the weight circuit two to three times a week. I am totally addicted to going. Can't believe it is even me ..... So yes, a person can learn to love exercising! Best of luck to you.

cheryl2586, thank you! My face is hidden because prior to the format change on this site, some members were discussing how some of the posts from this page show up on Twitter and some other sites. I don't mind sharing my journey with others who are going through it, but I pretty much keep my WLS private. Other than my family and a few close friends, people don't know I've had WLS.

HealthyNewMe, I used to dread going to the gym too! Once I get there, I really get into it though. Like I said earlier, if I don't work out, I don't even feel as if my day is complete. I'm glad you have developed a love for exercise. I just think that it's a must. You can lose weight without exercising I suppose, but for me, healthy eating and exercise go hand in hand. My cousin lost over 200 lbs. with WLS and didn't exercise but she has a tremendous amount of loose skin. I have loose skin also, but it's minimal due to the exercising, IMO.

Wonderful success!! I'm just over 10 months out as well and started very close to where you began. My WLS doc listed me at 256 but my family doc had me at 260. Today I'm at 199-203 and have been for three months. I know what I need since my restriction is perfect and my foods are good choices is that GYM!! Lol!! I'm hoping two major trips this summer and fall will motivate me to get to myself on the treadmill.

Thanks for inspiring me to get moving!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
