I am tentatively scheduled for March 4th. I have been drinking Muscle Milk & whey Protein which I got in Walmart. Just found out from my nutritionist that they really want me to use a Protein from a list they gave me. So now I'm on a search for a good tasting one. Any ideas????

My surgery was just confirmed for March 5th. I had my pre-op blood work done today and they gave me a bunch of different samples of Protein that they prefer pre-op and right after at the very least. Celebrate and Unjury for sure...not certain what else. I'm going to start trying them tomorrow so I can decide what to buy for my pre-op diet.

Unjury has an unflavored one that can be added to just about anything. At least that's what my coordinator told me when she was going over all of the Protein powders/flavors/brands available.

I'll be scheduling my surgery in a couple weeks, the doctor says sometime in March.

I'm actually testing out Protein drinks. I have a spreadsheet going with all the different drinks, their Protein, calories, carbs etc.

So far I really like the Muscle Milk

Tried Pure Protein.... eh... it wasn't great but I could drink it if I absolutely had to.

Tried Premier Protein, it has a little more protein than Muscle Milk and it was pretty good.

I've been hearing lots of great things about Syntrax Nectars, BJBariatrics.com sells sample packs that I'll be ordering.

I've also heard people rave about unjury. They sell a starter kit that comes with a shaker and thermometer, Defintely trying this too.

Hey there! I will be sleeved in March and currently I'm trying to mentally prepare for my big day. My 6 months flew past soooo quick and I find myself every chance I get on this site and other blogs. In prep for my 2 week liquid diet I am trying various Protein Shakes and drinks. So far Premier Protein was good. I didn't find Isopure tasty but is definitely a great Protein Powder for what we need it for. The isopure fruity Protein water/drink apple melon so far was tolerable for me. I will Definitely drink it because 1 bottle is only 160 calories and a whopping 40 grams of protein. Planning to order Unjury this week as I've heard phenomenal raving reviews about all their products. Needless to say I'm super excited my surgery is so close and looking forward to my WLS journey.

I'm probably in March. Will submit for insurance approval 2/14. I really like the Atkins products, especially the shakes. They don't have as much Protein as some but they are easy to drink. Premier is good too and high in protein. Not a fan of powders. The bubbles caused when mixing it gives me gas. I can't imagine that post op??? The Atkins are delish though. So much so that my 15 year old has been going through them quickly. Lol

I hope to be sleeved in March. I am finishing up with everything to submit for approval. I don't know why but I have that little fear of being denied. Protein that I like and use is from Jay Robb. It is powder form and can be found at GNC. It is great for diabetics and those who are lactose intolerant. This is a brand that was recommended by my nutritionist.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
