What are you NOT doing (but supposed to)?

Apparently, I'm not supposed to chew gum (my doc didnt tell me that, but many others have said that) but I do. Every week. Maybe a couple of times a week. So far, I don't see any negative thing happening to me for that. Or at least, I don't "feel" any negative I should say.

What are you supposed to do post op that you aren't doing (or vice versa), and how is it affecting you?

Protein drinks! Ever since I progressed back to regular food, I just don't want to drink it. Finding other ways to get protein in though.

Protein drinks get me nauseous now! I used to love anything sugary but I'm so picky now. These protein drinks are not an option for me anymore either. I always want to eat protein in from salty foods now.

Exercise. *sigh* I really do need to do more than I'm doing!

Yeah, I guess I should add that one on my list too. *sigh*

And the effect it's having..... Muscle-less body :-/

I LOVE your avi.

Great! That's a lot of great information. Thanks.

I am 5 weeks out and have 3 to go before I am supposed to have carbs like chips or food that is not soft. I eat a few chips a day 4-5, because I like the crunch and salt.

I eat a few cashews a day, not for the Protein but because they taste good.

I also drink while eating and it really does limit what I can eat.

The rule I want to break is having alcohol. I am not a big drinker and can go without any for months. The problem is I have a guys weekend coming up next week and for the last 10 years it has been drinking , cards, gambling, movies etc. I do all the cooking so my food will not be an issue but I do want to get a buzz on. I am 5 weeks out and Dr says no alcohol for 6 months. I think that is a weight loss thing not a recovery thing, but still I want to follow the rules.

1. Water: I am not drinking enough

2.I am not getting enough Protein

3.I tried using straws but it made me sick, so I don't do that anymore

4.I am not waiting long enought after meals before I start drinking.-This also makes me sick since I started eating regular foods. I am working on this.

5.Eating to fast. I am just download the slow meal app. and it has been helping.

6. Havent started exercising yet, but I am waiting until april. Give myself some time to heal/save money.

7.I chew gum. Did not know I wasnt suppose to. But I dont chew gum often

8. Coffee! i gave it up until wk 7. I have limited my intake to 1-2 coffee drinks a wk.

9. On weekends I have noticed that I am eating little bits thoughout the day instead of having meals.

Glad I'm not the only one!

1. I began having coffee as soon as I was released from the hospital 3 weeks ago.

2. I have had toast, but just 1/2 slice at a time.

3. I use a straw, and found I swallow less air with one, than without.

4. Sometimes I eat too fast. It's difficult to make 3 oz. of something last 30 minutes!

5. I could definitely step up the exercise!

Huuummmm.....yea.....Cheeeze-Itz.......yummy...only 5...but still

Shel

I don't get my Protein requirements (60 grams) and I kind of don't really try anymore. I just get 30-40 and call it a day. When I tried really hard to do nothing but protein and the full 60 grams, I was light-headed and weak and I felt awful, now that I eat more carbs, I feel great and have more energy so I am thinking maybe I'm just one of those who needs more carbs and the weight loss hasn't suffered so no harm, no foul as far as I'm concerned.
