I forced myself to wake up at 4:30 AM today, and was at the gym by 5:15 I was on the elliptical for 33 minutes and ran 4 1/2 miles. I felt lots of energy all day long, but now I'm starting to tire out.

I always feel great afterward and yet there's still some old lazy voice tellimg me I don't really want to go. I'm learning how to shut that down and seek joy and health instead. A complete rewiring takes time, I guess, but I'm getting there. Here's to it!

one "like" wasn't enough... so....like, like, like, like, like!!!!

Thank you so much! I just came on here tonight, hit "first unread post" and there is your nice message. It's freezing cold here and everything hurts (a lot) but I have exercised three mornings in a row and will go again tomorrow morning. This quells my desire to whine and layabout,

today i hung blue, green and white christmas lights on my trees and bushes. celebrating my seahawks going to the superbowl. :D i have 21/2 acres so took a walk around it. my treadmill is causing my mass on my abd. to hurt not only the mass but it extends to my back. for some reason walking the yard doesn't hurt so much. went and got the mail and got the trashcan from street a football field from my front door. and i danced with my hubby. one slow dance in the living room. lovely.

I try to get to the gym everyday, which means I get there 5 times a week....

Just want to say...EVERY TIME I go, there is a voice telling me today is NOT the day, everybody has those days and perhaps today is one of those days for me NOT to go to the gym...it's Ok, you can go tomorrow....you just don't have what it takes today....I'm too tired, my knee was a little sore last night, there's a full moon....whatever.

Everyday I get these thoughts...right now, it's 5am, it's 6 degrees outside, my car is a ice cube..... my wife is still asleep in our warm bed...and that voice is telling me I should not go....I am crazy!

BUT...everyday when I do go, 5-7 minutes into my run, etc, those thoughts vanish....every time! And I always feel rewarded I did go....

This has not changed in over 3 years.....EVERYONE has doubts......

I did 45 minutes of Zumba yesterday.. I am a little sore today but I feel good.. I hate going to the Gym so the Zumba will work for now. Once the weather improves I will walk more.. anything we do will keep us on the road to good health.

This makes me feel so much better -- that even the rock stars of exercise have the committee in their head giving negative advice. I can sense the dialogue slowly changing, though. For instance now sometimes I'm happy while doing it and I'm celebrating those moments even if five minutes later I have to go back to faking it. One thing remains unchanged: after I work out I am ALWAYS glad I did it. That never varies. I feel better physically and mentally. It's good for the arthritis and the self-esteem. Maybe I should write a memo to the committee and tell them they are dismissed.

That's about all the enjoyment you'll get out of this game. Sorry but you're playing the most explosive and productive offense in NFL history B)

Lets face it...it's called a "WORK" Out....if it was easy, then what's the point? It's hard for everybody....when I look around at the gym, everyone is sweating...

But it can be rewarding, small at first, but rewarding just the same...and that's the addiction....

There are days I wish I did not have to go to work...and the same voice is telling me to call in sick....but then, if I don't work, who's going to pay the mortgage? And if I didn't pay the Mortgage, I would not have a nice home...so there are rewards to everything we do, but it requires some effort....

Or, we can sit on the sofa in front of the TV and hope it all happens magically....maybe someone can do it for us...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
