Hi there, I am new to this forum. I have my first consultation with the surgeon next Friday March 30th:) . I am so excited but also nervous.

I have been reading through a few posts and it is so good to see that the majority of the feedback is positive.

I will be having my surgery done in Dublin and I was wondering if any of you have any advice as to questions I should be asking the surgeon next week.

hi, can anyone tell me if their band has ever set the security alarms off at the airport?? The booklet that Frederik gave me said that you can get a card to carry that says you are a lap band patient. Has anyone got one of these and if so, where can i get one?

What makes you think your band has slipped. From what I know from other cases you would be very sick, and not able to keep anything down. It sounds like you are still wide open, you may have a leak. That's what happened to me. I was going to Dublin for fills every month, and nothing was happening then I went to Jerome to have a look, and he told me I had no fluid in there, it was a big shock. I'm so glad he is the one going to fix it. Ill be heading of Monday week cant wait. If you need any more information pm me.

Magner how are you doing haven't heard from you in a while were you back up this month for a fill. I tried to pm you but it wont allow me in let us know how you are doing your not alone.

Hi angie. I've travelled a bit since the band and never set off an alarm. I thought I was setting off shop alarms for months but I discovered there was a security device under a sticker on a tube of make up :tongue2: Once I got rid of that there were no more incidents.

I got a booklet with a card in it from Dr. Chris after the surgery.

How did you all get on with your fills? Hope there is some good restriction out there!

Thanks Roe, he said I will have to go over and see him in Paris,we are going to try and set a date now for some time next week. He said I will need an x-ray, but he thinks I only need a fill, a good fill , I hope so, thanks alot Roe for everything Terry

Hi- just joined today- had my surgery done in march 07 with acs and the infamous jerome- i rang a solicitor re the situation with acs and they would not take my case as they say there is nothing they can do as the company is gone into liquidation and there are no common directors with the hospital group to chase????

i rang acs last week re a fill and they told me that i would have to go to belfast and pay for the pleasure-they say they have a long list of clients who need a fill so i am on a waiting list and the uk office will ring me when they can give me an appointment- this is such a joke-

imagine paying 10k for an operation and then receiving no aftercare- by the way when i spoke to the solicitor he gave me the name Dr Justin Geoghegan who specialises in banding in loughlinstown and if u can get a letter of referral from ur gp he will put u on his list and treat u-his list is very long- did u hear anything about debbie having a new practice on pearse street in dublin?

let me know if there is anything i can do - re meetings, lobbying etc- i didn't know anything about meetings etc- and there must be plenty of other ex patients like me out there-

has anyone contacted that guy in the daily mail who did the article on acs?

Hi Roe Jerome still has not got back to me , I was hoping to go over on the 15 as it is only an xray I need, do you have his phone number as maybe I will give him a ring, do you think he would mind me ringing him, will he understand me on the phone, Thanks Terry

HI roe do you no the name of the hospital that he works from, I am looking to get some lipo I wonder if they do it , I rang the hospital and they said he will be back on the 15, but he wont ans his phone ,I dont think I will be going on the 15, it will be oct again I can go Talk later Terry

Hi roe again you are not going to belive me Jerome just rang me and said I can come out on 15, I told him I new you he said that was great we can go together, I told him I was staying the night he said I could stay in the hospital with you if you did not mind ,but my sister is coming so we will get a hotel it is only for one night , he is so lovely ,we will book a hotel when we get over PM me your number so we can talk Terry
