Hey everyone,

My name is Ashaley I am 23 years old mother of 2. I have a very supportive boyfriend who has been with me through this entire journey. My father passed in April 2013 at 54 he the reason i decided to get WLS. He had many health problems streaming from weight and once he finally lost the weight it was toooooo late ???? .... But i promised him that I would take hold of my health before it was too late. After alot of back and forth I decided to attend a seminar. That day 7/1/2013 I had made my mind up about that this was what I needed to do. After a very long journey I was sleeved on Monday January 6,2014!!! First new years that i might actually be able to meet my resolution about taking control of my weight. I feel amazing and Have lost 21lbs 11 on the liquid diet and 10 after post op. I hope god and my father continue to watch over me through this journey ...

Just wanted to share my story you all the beat of luck and thanks for being here you are all very supportive!!!

Congratulations on being sleeved!

It was a brave thing to do, it's not an easy surgery, but you have now taken control of your health and well being as well as your weight. You have also ensured that your kids won't be denied you being in their lives when they grow up....

I am so sorry about your father but I bet he will be watching and be very proud of you. Good luck in your journey ahead - this is just the beginning of your story, let us know how you are doing :-)

Congratulations! And also, you might not realize it, but you are very fortunate and smart to have done this at such a young age! You have your whole life ahead of you, and with two small children, you will be able to do things with them, things that I as an overweight parent, was not able to do. And that means a lot! Congrats!

Congratulations!

I lost my dad when I was 6 years old. Among other health issues, he was morbidly obese. So I feel your pain. I know that your dad must be so proud of you right now. I hope mine will be as well when I get sleeved later this month.

Stay strong and keep up your faith in God. 2014 is going to be your year!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
