  • Popular Post

Hi my name is Heather and I had RNY on 11/18/13. I am looking to connect with other African American women who had RNY. Any takers?

Yes, I am feeling better. Due to my diabetes it was suffering with neuropathy really bad. My friend gave me something to help and I feel so much better. Going to call my doctor tomorrow to talk to her about it. When did any of u start going to the gym to walk? I am trying to get in fluids I feel like I am not getting enough. Any suggestions?

hey there, I started walking only like 4 times around the outer rim of the basketball court a few weeks after my surgery. I walked very slowly 3-4 times a week. You do what is comfortable for you and your body. Regarding fluids... I still struggle. I'm 8 months out and still only reaching 48oz (the minimum goal my NUT gave me). sorry couldn't give any advice on the fluid topic. Good luck and I look forward to hearing suggestions on that too. :)

ShaKazi that sounds delicious!!!! I want a juicer so badly. Money is very tight right now, so I have to wait, but I can't wait to start juicing and kudos to you for having no processed food in your fridge! Wow! As for my hubby, it seems like he is putting on the weight I am losing, but he says he is willing to try juicing, so I am looking forward to it!

Emeree I got a great juicer from QVC I did 6 value pays and got a really nice one.......I been buying on value pay for years. FYI no credit involved, just need your credit or debit card for your monthly payments.

Shakazi, thanks for the tip! I have never thought about doing that. I will have to look at the budget and see when I can do this sooner! What brand did you get? And what is your favorite juice concoctions?

Hello. I'm Kimberly from Charlotte, NC. I'm having the bypass on April 21st. Preop is Tuesday!

Hi I'm Stephanie and I am in VA. I will be having RNY on May 16th 2014. I am so excited to finally have this surgery and to find this group. I would like to find a buddy for support as this is basically a "secret surgery" for me. I have only told my husband, one sister (who has already had RNY) and my best friend.

I'm trying to prepare for the surgery and would like know what things you brought to prepare you kitchen for the first 2 wks home?

I bought my protein drinks, Isopure, jello, Popsicles, toddler spoons, a divided plate, frozen fruits to puree. I also pureed brocoli n cheese sauce, salmon burgers and chicken breast that I boiled with a bouillon cube and seasoning. I strained and bottled the chicken stock and froze it to drink. I also have powdered milk, Resource Beneprotein, and my chewable and/or liquid supplements.

Thank you Kimberly! I didn't think about puréed fruit. I have some of what you suggested already so I feel like I'm moving in the right direction.

Your date is right around the corner! How are you feeling? Nervous? Scared or just ready? Lol
