surgery date before insurance approval

my surgeon has scheduled my surgery date (Feb 5 2014) before submitting my information to my insurance company. Does this sound weird to anyone? My last M.D. check up is January 21st, then all my info from the past 3 months will be submitted. nervous about approval.

Is it important to loose weight before surgery.

its most likely a tentative date. Just keep an eye out for your approval! good luck!

My surgeon gave me a date of Feb 11 before insurance decision came back. It came back denied with two items that needed submitted. They changed my date to March 11 and the approval came back soon after resubmission. I had the surgery on the 11th.
