Islandgal65 I am on Medicare and Medicaid. I am 41 but am on disability.

I can't believe they don't require a waiting period but they don't which I am so happy about.

Ha,ha,just figured out how to reply to one post only. Slowly starting to understand this site. Which shake are you starting? Since I haven't met any doctors yet, they haven't recommended anything to me. I ordered Chocolite Protein, which is what I will be starting tomorrow, but I doubt it is the same quality as doctors recommend.

Hi everyone, it's very interesting to read everyone's experience. Mine seems to be a little different, probably because I am in Canada. I think the longest anyone has been on the diet first is one month, most people do a liquid diet for 2 weeks first, I think. The sleep apnea thing is really bothering me, I hope I don't have it. I haven't been sleeping well for years, but I never thought that could be what I had. Sasha287, I definitely understand what you are going through. I'm having a hard time dieting too, I will try it again this week though. I bought some Protein shakes and will try to start replacing at least one meal a day with it to get used to it. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm going to try to do the Protein Shakes starting next week too. Let's compare notes!

I have the same problem. I will start again tomorrow, I guess trying to eat healthy until the surgery will be my resolution, but I really understand what you are going through. I lost 20 pounds doing Weight Watchers before they called me to give me an appointment and since then have gained most of it back. food is my way of dealing with stress I guess.

How are you ladies doing as far as losing weight pre-surgery? I must tell you, I'm not doing too good... I keep thinking, this is the last time I can have Pad Thai, this is the last time I'm going to have cake, etc... Is that common? I do want to try to start following a post-surgery diet so that I will be ahead of the game. The goal is to lose weight right? Not gain some before the surgery! :-)

Hi all! I am also struggling with the pre-sleeve overeating. I am trying to be gentle with myself and notice that deciding to be sleeved is stirring up a lot of strong emotions so turning to food for comfort is very natural for me. I know I will be better off in the long run if I start healthier habits now but there is also fear of change and of loss making it extra challenging for me. Best of luck to everyone and happy new year!

Hello I'm new to this all. I have had all my tests done. I need to attend one more support group. I am scheduled for my endoscopy on Friday and will meet with the surgeon at the end of the month to discuss the date of surgery and what needs to be done! I hope to find some good supporters and help others as we go along through the process. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
