Hey Ronda,

I just want to say hello. I have relatives in Cedartown Ga. so I am familiar with Carrollton. I hope your surgery goes well. I was banded on the 10th and all is well.

Hi All, I've never posted before. I am covered under State Health HRA and attended a telephone conference today and was informed that Lapband procedure will be covered effective 1/1/09 through UHC and CIGNA if you have HRA or HDHP plans. This is the information in the Decision Guide. Treatment of Morbid Obesity at approved Centers of Excellence for members who meet the medical guidelines and complete specified requirements. I contacted UHC but they did not have a list of the requirements yet. My surgery was scheduled for 12/8 because I would be self-pay and had to get the money together. I have cancelled now and will wait to see what the requirements will be. Just wanted to let everyone know that may have State Health and have been waiting on this.:)

Rondapooh1, how did your doctor's appointmen go?

Hi all! My appointment went really well. I like Dr. Crawford. He's fun but still serious if that makes sense. I also saw my nutritionist today. She was very nice and told me to call her anytime. My pre-surgery bloodwork is on the 16th and surgery is the 21st. They said I won't have to even stay overnight probably which is great. Dr. C compared it to gallbladder surgery (which I had a couple of years ago) in regard to recovery time. That's great since I was back to work the next week.

I start my full liquid diet next Tuesday. I did convince them to let me have home made vegestable Soup at night. Dr. Crawford agreed as long as it was meat free. YEAH. I think I'll survive now.

I just started my pre-op diet today, and it is a real treat :smile2:. I am nervous and scared, and keep thinking what if my liver doesn't shrink enough, hope I don't have to reschedule, blah blah blah......

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
