Monday my hernia was repaired and Band was "installed", so why am I still burping like a drunken sailor?

I thought once my hernia was repaired the excess burping was supposed to come to a screeching halt (no pun intended). Feeling the air but it's not painful at all.

Any additional information would be appreciated.

Hi, QueensTy, I have had my band for 15 months and burps play a big part of my life. They aren't drunk burps, but they do make some noise. Unexpected burps are to be expected and I have got use to it. Only places I feel uncomfortable with it is when I'm in a quiet place. They usually happen after I eat.

We all burp, it is one of the things that happens with lapbanders. And by all means, burping is the better way to get rid of the gas they pump into you for surgery! Walking will help release it. best wishes!
