Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!

Recommended Posts

I am 5'10" and got beyond my goal to 150lbs and was still losing. Gained back to 165lbs and I have been maintaining for 1.5 years. Let me tell that the idea of getting to 150 was mind blowing, so was gaining back and maintenance. People told me I was too skinny but I believe it is because their reference was the fat me. Good luck!

Tredfern do you mind me asking what size you wear at 165lbs? I'm curious what size you started at and are wearing now for pant, top and shoe. I started at a tight 22 and size 11W shoes. My shoes are all too big now and I would love to be a regular size 10M in shoes again. Right now I'm wearing a size 16 pant a little bigger in tops.

Hello tall sleevers :)

I have been up and down with my weight the last two weeks since Thanksgiving. Went up after the holiday, then had a big loss because I got the stomach flu. Then my birthday hit and I rebounded back up. Realistically, I know I didn't "gain" that much weight in a week - it's Water, etc. and my body getting back to normal, but it was a blow to the ego. I was SOOOO CLOSE to being under 200lbs....and then I wasn't. I'm back to "normal" eating, Protein first, veggies second...and getting in my Water. I WILL GET UNDER 200lbs soon! My goal is by 12/31. I've got 3 weeks...I am going to do it..

The sleeve is a wonderful tool and I need to use it. I still have the same goal of 165lbs...which is about 41lbs to go. I may not get to 165, but if I got under 180 I think I would be happy with that. We will see how my body feels at that weight.

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the holiday season. Whatever you Celebrate - hope it's filled with health & joy.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
