Who Is Getting Their Lap Band In January ?

Recommended Posts

Good luck everyone!

I'm getting banded on January 14 at 10:00am.

I have a 2 week pre-op diet of only 900 cals a day (5 Boost diabetic per day). Seems quite extreme compared to some! My doctor is doing Lap-Bands with fewer incisions, and they need my liver as small as possible, is the reason for the 2 weeks.

My doctor doesn't have me on a pre op diet. I. Have my pre op visit the 6 th and surgery the 7th. But I have lost 106lbs in the last 6 months. I really worked my tookus off to get that done.

I am told my date will be in January and have Liver class on the 2nd but ran into trouble not having weighed enough by 7# in 2011. They are going to use weight from January, 2014 to get me through. I am so ready to be able to have the band as a tool to help me conquer weight once and for all. I have struggled since adolescence . This is for my well being but also to set a good healthy example for my Son. I was blessed at 38 with the child I had been told my whole life I would never be able to have. His biological Father is exceptionally large both in height @ 6`5 & I am guessing somewhere between 300-350, with multiple health problems. As much as I want this for myself, I want to lead him to make the best choices possible to keep from going down the painful path his Father and I have felt.

That being said, I am 5 foot & weigh roughly 225#. I know that may sound like a goal weight for some but I have degenerative disc disease, a rare collagen disorder EDS that causes my joints to dislocate. I have to get the weight off these joints, just this year my knee went out I fell down the stairs and broke

I also have other health issues that can only improve as I go on my journey with you all.

IS ANYONE IN DOTHAN, ALABAMA DOWN TO PANAMA CITY, FLORIDA AREA THAT WANTS TO GET TOGETHER?

So excited for everyone to get started on the new year with successful lap bands and new healthy lives! Good for us for working towards this goal and achieving it!! I hope we are all ecstatic with ourselves and our new bodies and healthy habits a year from now, and with that may it bring self confidence, self esteem, and assurance that we can all be a little more comfortable in our own skins! Happy Holidays to you all!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
