One week ago today, I was going into the OR at this time. Despite almost, ya know, dying and such and being very very unbelievably sore at the incision sites....best choice I ever made (other than marrying Mark). I am down 10 pounds since surgery, even with all the fluids they pumped into me. I am permanently off three meds so far. Blood pressure is stable, blood sugars are normal, life is good!!

I'm able to get all in & Protein so a week from today I advance to mushy phase wahoo! Hang in there and way to go, this is the start of one hing incredible for us !

I started pureed in the hospital, never had a liquid phase. I'm eating pureed eggs, tuna, chicken. I went into diabetic kenoacidosis, high blood sugars, was put into ICU, needed three blood transfusions. But all is good now! I feel good, except for the sore tummy!

So your post op diet was never liquid? I was sleeved on 11/22 and today I am at the point I am having a hungry feeling, I was told to do liquids for 2 weeks but the Protein shakes make me sick so it's been Water and apple sauce for days. What are you able too eat and how far out r u? Happy to hear you are doing much better as well!

Never liquid. My surgical team doesn't believe in liquid diets. No Protein shakes. They teach us how to eat "normal" from the start. Pre-surg menu was low carb, high Protein. Today I had pureed eggs for Breakfast, pureed chicken for lunch, and pureed chicken w/ a touch of spaghetti sauce for dinner. Two Snacks of 1/2 cup milk.

I was sleeved on 11/22 as well and am experiencing a great deal of soreness. I'm also struggling to get in anywhere near all my fluids. I decided today I'd go back to chicken broth to help with getting my fluids in and that's helping. I'm hoping to hear feedback on how soon post op any of you saw the soreness start to go away and really feel better.

Thank you for your feedback... The soreness is what's getting me down more than anything... Perhaps the light at the end of the tunnel us closer than I think!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
