(Silently raises hand) me! I had one on the way to the hospital and one on the way home. When my surgeon asked me if I smoked, I lied. :-(. My plan was to quit while I'm the hospital. I was there 3 days so I thought it would be easier. Nope! I really want to quit but damn it's hard!

Your surgeon must have known. That smell is impossible to mask.

I feel you, though. My husband is a former smoker. His last quitting foray was really successful, but he has been addicted to nicotine gum for 15 years.

Check out an ebook at Amazon called Stop smoking the easy way. Several guys from work read this 100 page book and when finished stop smoking without any problems. Also read the reviews. Over 800 mostly 5 star.

The book tells you not to quit until finished reading. The book reprograms your brain while you read it.

I used it to stop using smokeless tobacco after 30 years of using. Stopped 4 weeks ago just like I never used tobacco before. Haven't missed it since.

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to load that onto my iPad. Did it help either of you if you were smokers?

I wasn't a smoker, I chewed smokeless tobacco. Regardless both are nicotine addiction. Two guys I work with turned me onto the book because it was easy for them to stop smoking by reading the book.

I read it in about a day, threw away my can and it was the easiest thing I ever did.

We program ourselves to panic when we don't have one readily available. We program ourselves to believe that we need the nicotine to deal with stress but really it's not the nicotine, its stepping away and focusing on something else while we take a few deep breaths that help us deal with stress.

Anyway, the book does nothing more than reprograms you by repetitiveness and by the time your finished reading the book you throw away the things and don't look back.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
